Right here with you - we've been trying for seven months, and up until last week not the slightest bit of fertile cm came my way. I knew I was ovulating, because my temperatures said so, and like you there would be changes in my cm - sticky to creamy - but nothing approaching watery or eggwhite. I was checking my cervix, but stopped after a few months as it became a bit depressing.
I'm happy to say I got a glob of eggwhite cm for the first time ever last week. It wasn't quite at the right time, but I was just thrilled to know my body was actually capable of producing it. I now hope that it was really there all along, and I hope that's the case for you too.
There are a couple of things you can take to supposedly increase and thin out your cm, and for the last five months I've been taking them all, so perhaps they did have an effect. Between AF and ovulation I take:
- 2000mg/day of Evening Primrose Oil (I upped the dose a few months back)
- two tablets of flax seed oil per day (in the form of Tesco's 'Vegetarian Omega 3', which is pure flax seed oil
- the week leading up to ovulation I take three to four tbsp/day of cough syrup containing only guaifenesin, which helps to thin out bodily mucus, which is why is helps clear chesty coughs but also why it can help with cm
I also try to limit the number of acidic foods I eat up to ovulation, and eat more alkaline ones instead (good for vaginal pH apparently).
I must say that I was starting to get worried because my cm seemed to be drying up even more and I wasn't noticing the creamy stuff anymore. But then I got the Holy Grail of eggwhite last week, so now I'm definitely continuing with this regime.
Sorry for the long post, I hope some of it helps at least. I know how the problem can make you feel very sad about TTC - each month I have felt that my chances are doomed before we've even begun, because of the lack of cm. It's also really difficult to find any information about it, and there is no medical treatment for it either. Gynaecologists won't even discuss it in my experience. I hope the situation improves for us all though. Lots of luck
