Hi there!

We have an appointment with Lesley Regan after some miscarriages. Is there any one out there who has a positive outcome and pregnancy after seen Dr. Regan? And or recommendations? or what to expect?

Thank you!

Hi
Ive been to see Dr Regan - it was a very mixed experience as was excited that someone was taking me seriously and were doing all the tests but after having been in the waiting room for over 2 hours and not being seen I was summoned by DR and given precisely 2 minutes of her time

she was rather blunt and had no nice manner and it was not an experience I would want to go through again
I understand that the clinic must be very busy but there is a way of dealing sympathetically with people that was definitely not my experience

hope you have a better time

Hi I have been seeing Raj Rai (her partner) at St mary's this summer (privately as the wait thru' NHS was 6 months).

I had a very positive experience - everyone very friendly and professional, Raj Rai saw us for an hour on the intial consultation which covered all the questionnaire details and our background in minute detail and he was very particular in explaining everything to us if we didn't understand the terminiology. We had had preliminary RMC NHS tests already so I'd got those results so we only needed about 50% of their standard bloods done, some of these were taken immediately and some at my local drs.

I went back about 3 weeks later and they had pinpointed my problem which can be treated with heparin. Again he took ages to explain everything and alleviate any concerns I had.

I have had a bfp after my first cycle after my last mc and have been injecting heparin for the last 2 wks, I am 6wks6 and having my first scan on Friday (further along already then we were on our last 2 mc's).

I have heard Prof Reagan is very direct and doesn't have the softest bedside manner but she is THE specialist in the field. I found her book informative and honest.

Very good luck with your appointment.

Dear blueskies19 and polka@ thank you for your information. I already went to my appointment, and it was very interesting. We wait for perhaps 9 minutes in the waiting room, perhaps a couple more, but nothing out of the normal. i was pleased to see some young students arriving for a meeting/class/lab? and it gave me the feeling of an active clinic. The appointment went fine, and I too had positive and or some mixed feelings to how fast every thing went, but I can say today that it went well and that I was probably a bit too emotional to understand the meeting at first glance... I mean that after all I have been understanding better the environment where they work in. We were given right away different tests and even a surgery scheduled. My doubts were dissipated and I am now recovering. i am shortly going to explain more in the link that polka2 mentioned. i am still waiting to see what's down the road for us, but so far I can do nothing but wait, finish the blood test and go to a last meeting later on to see all the results!... Polka2 congrats for your BFP and for carrying on the pregnancy (4 of my 5 miscarriages were early in my 5-7 weeks so I would not be surprise if I have to use Heparin also ) I am happy it worked for you guys, keep fingers crossed for all of us in here hihihih! (and we will populate the world! :) )

many many hugs! and dont forget to see the light at the other end of the tunnel, it's always there! :)
