Painful sex, heavy periods CIN III smear results

Hi il start by saying sorrt if there is too much info.

For the last 2 and a half years i have suffered excruciating pain during sex. Feels like the mans penis is hitting against some thing and causes awful pain. Iv always suffered with heavy periods. Any way i finally went to a doctor who referred me to see a gyno.. had swabs taken to check for infections and STIs all these came back negative. Next suggestion was to have explority surgery. I was refused a smear test as i was only 24 at the time. I turned the surgery down as thought it was a bit radical. Im now 25 and my first smear test 2 weeks before my 25th birthday. I recievesd a letter with the results explaining that i had CIN III iv been booked in at hospital to have a colposcopy.biopsy and LLETZ treatment.
Im curious to know whether these results could of been because of my previous history (painful sex, heavy periods, back and tummy pain)
Im over thinking here and basically thinking what if i had that op maybe it would of been discovered sooner. Also i am aware that cervical cancer does take years to develop. This may sound extreme but i would rather have a hysterectomy to stop all of this. I have a child already and i do NOT want any more. Also ive been on the depot injection for 2 years.
Any advice would be grateful.
Thank you

Ok, I'll try and answer the best I can.

The CIN III would probably have been causing these symptons rather than the symptons causing the CIN.

I think a hysterectomy would be extreme in your case or anyone else's who gets a CIN III result. These are pre canerous cells and will not always develope into cancer anyhow. Once you have been for your LLETZ they will check the boarders to make sure they have removed it all and then you will have follow up smears at 6 month intervals.

I had CINIII almost 10 years ago and before DC and have no problems since.

And remember smears are looked at by humans and its not an exact science. My CINIII turned out to be only CINI after colposcopy.

The trouble with England is that they refuse to screen women under 25, where as in Scotland you would have been invited at 18 and it would have been picked up earlier. However I'm suprised that when you presented with your symptoms they didn't offer a smear before exploratory surgery.

Please try not to worry, a LLETZ, although an uncomfortable procedure in nothing in the league of major abdominal surgey.

Agree with blibblibbs totally. Hysterectomy is a massive surgery and you will not need that if the lletz is successful by any means.

I dont have experience of a lletz procedure, but I did under a colposcopy / biopsy 2 mnths ago to which they found no abnormal cells compared to my smear test.

I would say, take it slowly and see what biopsy says first before worrying (I know easier said than done) and good luck.
