The same thing happened to me a couple of cycles ago now. I went for almost 70 days with no sign of AF. Dr said 'sometimes the body decides now is not a good time to make a baby' so doesn't produces an egg which can mean you don't have a bleed either. It is possible to have a period without ov taking place though. Are you doing ovulation tests?

I have had a 70 cycle as well, again it is the body saying not this month! so echo what decafgirl said.

Hopefully you will come on soon and get back to normal, however if you don't go see your gp and they can give you something to bring a bleed on.

A "normal" cycle is a cycle length of between 21 and 35 days or with less than 4 days of variation from month to month. It is very likely therefore that this particular cycle is an anovulatory one. This can happen from time to time.

I would say though that if your cycles continue to lengthen like this then I would have a blood test done to assess your hormone levels. Hormonal imbalances are sometimes the cause of continuously irregular cycles.

i haven't been doing ovulation tests. maybe i should start? IT'S just when you make the decison to have a child you assume it's gonna happen instantly or is that just me ? and especially when you have another child that you has no problems conceiving. thanks girls

I'd personally not use OPK's at all as these can be unreliable at best and misleading at worst. I would keep an eye on your cycles and if they become more irregular and or painful over time seek medical advice.

Secondary subfertility (where the first child is readily conceived but difficulties arise when conceiving the second child) is more common that people realise.
