Faint line on OPK - what does it actually mean?

I'm currently bf 9 mo DS and want to start ttc DC2. As no sign of AF, I thought I'd get some OPKs to see if I'm ovulating. I have done 3 tests now and all have had faint test lines. I know this is a negative test but does the actual presence of a line mean anything (as opposed to no line)?

Sorry if I sound a bit thick but I'm new to all this - we caught quick on DS as we just dtd every other day from one period to (when I should have been due) the next!

Mo,it doesn't mean anything. Only a line dark as or darker than the control line is positive. When this happens, it means you will ovulate in the next 24-36 hours.

OPKs measure lutenizing hormone, it is always present in your body, hence the faint line. It surges right before you ovulate so then you'll get the strong line. It's totally normal to get anything between no line and a strong line at any point in your cycle but you should only get one peak where the two lines are the same or the lh line is stronger. Does that help?

Thank you both. I was hoping that it meant ovulation was on its way but from what you say, it's not :-( I'll just have to keep testing.
