Apologies if this is a silly question but I would like to know if it's worth investing in this!

Can you use it with very long and often irregular cycles?

Any success stories?

These are not worth using at all if you have long and irregular cycles. These kits measure LH: if your levels of LH are elevated the kit reads that excess level.

Far better instead to find out why you have such a cycle because its often due to hormonal imbalances. A condition called polycystic ovaries can be the cause as can problems with the thyroid gland. It is well worth having blood tests done to see what is going on.

How long have you been ttc?

Thanks for the reply! I have 1 dc already but it was a surprise so wasn't paying attention to cycles.

I don't have polycystic ovaries, I have had some blood tests but no one can tell me why my periods are so irregular. Often they can be 40-80 days apart.

I'm 35 so I want to have dc2 soon if its possible.

No the monitor will be of no use. If you don't have pcos you can try clearblue advanced opks. But if your cycles are long it will be expensive. However, on the Internet you can get cheap opks that measure lh.

You could also look out for other signs of ovulation, such as cervical fluid and cervical position. I find the latter to be the clearest sign for me. I can tell a few days in advance when ov is coming up by cervical position.

What hormone levels were measured and on which days?. Blood tests done on the wrong days will give meaningless results.

Who stated that you do not have PCO or have you just assumed this.

A cycle that is 40-80 days apart is not normal at all, you are likely not to be ovulating regularly if at all. I would not waste any of your hard earnt cash on OPKs as they are hopeless with regards to such irregular periods. You really do need to find out why your periods are so irregular; it is all too easy to be fobbed off

Who carried out the blood tests?. Was it the GP?.
