Help, we decided to TTC last year but when it came to DTD OH decided he wasn't ready & wanted to wait. We then decided to start in April but he wanted to wait again. We now have a weeks holiday right over OV & were supposed to start trying on Monday but he now wants to wait AGAIN. I'm getting confused & frustrated with him, he wants kids & has told all his mates were TTC but then doesn't want to know! Anybody been in similar situation?

He's getting cold feet. What are his reasons for changing his mind so often?

I think it's just a case of talking it out. Then you can either both agree to wait, both agree to TTC, or both agree to disagree and go your separate ways.

Whatever your decision, it needs to be a mutual one.

Probably best to have a chat its strange because I was so desprate to start trying then when it came to DTD that night I was totally freaked out I'm ok not. It's a massive step just talk it through I'm sure you will both be just fine

He doesn't really have a reason just says he's not ready! I'm quite happy to wait but now he's started telling people were TTC I'm getting asked if I'm pregnant all the time which is annoying me!

We'll have a chat when he gets in, I was the one who was scared by it all but Maybe he's feeling the same when It comes down to it!
Thanks for your replies.

If he's telling people he's TTC it sounds like he wants children but is a little scared. Maybe deep down things are worrying him possible money total change in life style. Some thing like that? It is hard trying to ask a fella if something it worrying them. I know it must be very frustrating but maybe you could sit down together and visualise having children (if that makes sense) in a way it is good that he is telling you he isn't ready better than just going along with it. And once your pregnant him not showing any enthusiasm. Maybe instead of saying your going to start trying on a certain month or day just let it happen. I know that's not that easy I've become crazy tryingr for a baby because I want it to happen NOW I do feel your frustration but it will fall in to place :) x

This is exactly like me but I'm the one that's suddenly got scared!!
My reasoning is I just keep worrying about stuff like a strain on me and my DP, or not being able to give my baby the best of everything! I just can't help worrying about the silly things but do want a baby and would be over the moon to find out I was pregnant. It definetly will just be him feeling a little scared that's all.

We had a chat, he is just scared! If I told him I was pregnant he would be over the moon, he just gets cold feet knowing we could be making a baby. I'm not telling him when ovulation time is so he don't get scared & he's gonna stop telling people were TTC

My DH did this for a while years ago when I wanted to start trying. It's because he wasn't ready. Trying for a baby can be a big thing, especially because as soon as you 'start trying' men seem to think we seem them only as sperm donors. Maybe carry on with the 'not using contraception but not 'trying' approach so, no running up the stairs shouting "this is it I'm ovulating", just have sex as and when you fancy it.
