OPK after chemical pregnancy?

I hope someone can offer some advice. SOrry if this gets a bit complicated.

I had a chemical pregnancy starting 24/06/13. My Period was due just 2 days before on 22/06/13.

I usually have a 30/31 day cycle and ovulate 14 days before my period, as far as I know. (I get ecwm for a few days and then ovulation pain bang on 14 days before my period.) So ovulate on CD 17.

Anyway, I had this chemical pregnancy and am now convinced tht my cycles are going to be all messed up (had mild pcos before DS1 and have been very regular ever since my periods returned a year ago)

So I was thinking about trying opk to get my head around my cycle. If I count day one of chemical pregnancy as CD1, then today is CD15 and I should ovulate CD17, this thursday 11/07/13. But I haven't seen any ewcm, so I was thinking of going out now and buying opk.

I have no idea how they work but would it be too late in my cycle to start now? I'd like to know if I am coming up to ovulation as I don't think I can face having sex every other day with no end in sight!!! We DTD last Friday and last night (CD14 and CD11)

SO would it be worth popping out for an opk today? I'm going to the chemist anyway to get some cough medicine ( I've heard that can help cm, along with grapefruit juice!!)

You need to count Day 1 of your cycle as the first day of bleeding - providing it started before 2pm. If it was after 2pm then the next day is Day 1.

Which type of OPKs you use will dictate if you are too early/late to use them. Just bear in mind that they are not very reliable for women with PCOS as sufferers have naturally elevated levels of the hormones they test for, so you can get false readings.

Hi, thanks for the replies.

Chemical pregnancy was awful given that I tested positive a week before period due. Next time I am not testing until an at least a week overdue!

So I decided against buying an opk this month, mainly because i'llget a bit obsessed over them and if pcos can alter readings then its nt worth the anxiety (am an anxiety sufferer too!)

I did buy the cough syrup though and I think I saw a hint I ewcm this afternoon so hopefully we're on the right track.

When you say before /after 2pm, well I had light spotting through the morning and een the night before, but te bleeding didn't start until after 2pm. So maybe I'm running a day behind.

Fingers crossed for this month.
