No, solars, and I'm finding it all quite weird.......

maybe I was told no stairs, exercise, much exertion for 3 days after 5 day transfer. I guess that was when s/he implants. But yes, I think it varies lots. That made sense to me though and meant I could be v lazy

Solars · 01/07/2013 13:13

Yes it takes some getting used to Keep and I still don't know who everyone is especially some of the earlier graduates.

Fox82 · 01/07/2013 14:47

maybe I'm with penguin in that I'm not really sure exactly what you're having done, but sounds positive and best of luck

I've just returned from my weekly shop with some nappies Blush. Well they were free when you spent over 50 quid so it would've been rude not to!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/07/2013 15:17

Nice one Fox Grin

Penguin and Fox I'm in the middle of my first IVF-ICSI cycle and am due to ave my eggs collected on Wednesday.

Thanks Keep and Solars. What you have said makes total sense. I have just read some posts that have said carry on as normal, but I think running so much would be bad. But then I wo der when you caact normal again? I will still be walking loads with the pup, so that's all good. I haven't been able to run since Friday. It hurts too much.

Apparently my ovaries are now so big they are kissing. My left was behind my right, and she couldn't find it until they manipulated by tummy. It was very uncomfy. I'm dreading EC Sad

keepitgoing · 01/07/2013 15:54

Oh gosh, well you must definitely wait to run until they are comfortable. Brisk walking meant to be good, to get blood flowing, and I'd think running would be fine from three days after ET. If you're used to doing things then they're ok. Just see how you feel. You may well develop a bit of ohss, but I am brooking you won't. I understand if you're going to get it it starts after the trigger shot. You've done so well, drugs are almost done now...

Have you time off after EC? X

Fox82 · 01/07/2013 16:11

Best of luck for Wednesday maybe

Hello I'm back!

Wow I've missed a busy time on the thread. Hello to all the lovely new people, sorry not to name check but I am exhausted. Welcome to the lovely supportive world of the Brookers.

Solars I'm so so so happy to hear about your scan. How lovely for you and MrS. I had a little tear in my eye reading that. I'm so pleased for all the recent grads. I hope Sweetie and Face are doing well too.

Maybe OMG I can't believe it's time for EC. I'm brooking so hard that it goes well, I really hope it isn't too painful for you. You must be so uncomfortable with the ovaries kissing. I'm hoping you'll feel some immediate relief straight after.

Keep it's so nice to see the real life you! I find it so strange to see all the Brookers. No one looks like I imagined and its strange knowing everyone's names. I added you the other day, my last update was about glasto so hopefully you will have figured out who I am Smile

Well AFM Glastonbury was amazing. I am unbelievably tired. I was pretty sensible, I didn't drink and I ate really healthily. We had 3 meals a day provided, it was cooked fresh on site and was all vegetarian. I worked 24 hours in total over 4 days, my job was pretty easy as I was a team leader. I had to walk around 3 of the main stages checking the recycling rules where being followed and radio in any problems. The area I covered was massive hence why I'm so tired, I can't imagine how many miles I have walked. When I wasn't working I saw as many bands as possible. The vaccines and arctic monkeys where fantastic. I also managed to see the Rolling Stones. I even managed to squeeze in some acupuncture in the healing fields.

We drove back after the bands last night, got home at 03:00 and slept until 07:00. Our teach was at 09:00. The plan is to down reg with burselin injections for 14 days, I then go in for bloods to check I'm ready to start stimming. I'm going to be using gonal f for that alongside the burselin. I've got all the drugs now. I'm starting my injections at 7pm. DH was so overwhelmed with it all, he's just reading through all the information they gave us. He did start reading the drug side effects but I stopped him as I don't want him to worry too much. I've been to the shops and got lots of healthy food. Should I start with all the protein, water and milk now or is it just for during stimming?

Sorry for such an epic me me me post Blush

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/07/2013 16:34

Forgot to say hi to Beedle and Geek hope you are doing ok

keepitgoing · 01/07/2013 16:53

Hey cups! Glad you had fun. I believe milk water protein is for the stimming phase. Good luck for the first one, ate you going to do them yourself or is dh?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/07/2013 16:54

Cups you are go go go!! I didn't up my protein until stimming. That's great you only have 14 days of down regging! It's interesting you do your buserilin in the evening. I had to do mine in the morning and gonal f in the evenings. How are you feeling about it all?

Keep that's interesting about the running. You think it will be ok? It's horrid, I don't want to ruin any chance I have, but I asp don't want to get fat and go out my head. But I'll be walking atl east 10k a day. I'll see what my clinic says. Is swimming a no go?

The clinic hasn't mentioned OHSS. My hormones have really been behaving which is a good thing at least. Did you feel strange after trigger? I'm scared my ovaries will pop. There ad better be some decent eggs. I'm hoping for a double yoker Wink

Thanks for the luck Fox!

keepitgoing · 01/07/2013 17:02

maybe swimming is a no go for a bit because of infection risk. Most places say a week or so after EC, my doc said not till 7+ weeks. The running thing, well thats what they say to pregnant people, if you've been doing it then ok to keep going so long as your heart rate doesn't go too fast. There doesn't seem to be much consensus about post ivf pre bfp...

I felt fine after trigger, but then had a quarter your number of eggs!!

I wouldn't be surprised if you feel a bit dodgy for a few days after EC, then it'll be ET and a couple of days of rest, then just see how you feel. Rationally running can't do anything bad, surely... Talk to the clinic.

But one step at a time! Get those juicy eggs out.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/07/2013 17:05

I'm going to do them I think, I will have to do some of them while at work anyway. I was told to pick a time between 4-7pm. I've picked 7pm as I run clinic a few times a week between 4-6pm so would be difficult to do it then. DH does want to do some of them though.

It's strange that its different times, I would much rather do mine in the morning as I'm going to have to take mine to work. It's a pain as they need to be in the fridge, I'm going to have to get a cool bag.

I'm starting to feel really nervous, 2 hours until my first injection........Confused

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/07/2013 17:18

Don't be nervous Cups, you'll be great. I didn't need to keep my buserilin in the fridge. Just my gonal f.

You're right Keep, one step at a time. I don't think I'll get 40 eggs though.....

Solars · 01/07/2013 17:21

Cups good luck with your first shot! Also agree milk, protein etc can start when you start stimming although when I down regged the first time I was told to still drink a lot of water, helps to get the drugs where they're meant to or something. Sounds like you had a fantastic time at Glasto and weather was quite nice too!

Maybe good luck with your trigger tonight and enjoy your drug free day tomorrow. I'm sure you'll have lots of juicy eggs to pick from.

I have just been rudely awaken from a lovely nap by a 0844 number. I didn't answer it though. I'm getting quite tired of these ppi and loan companies, grrr!!

How are all the newbies doing?

Fox82 · 01/07/2013 18:01

I seem to get a lot of those calls solars - so annoying!

Well AF came for me yesterday and is heavier than ever before (and I'm never particularly light anyway). Wonder if this means anything?

I don't feel so bad about taking advantage of the free nappy offer in the supermarket today - a guy on my Facebook has just announced he's done exactly the same! He has no dc and is gay, and not even in the process of looking into children Grin

ControlGeek · 01/07/2013 18:14

maybe well done on getting to trigger! I'm still amazed at the difference in clinics' approaches, mine only did EC under general anaesthetic thank gawd but I am sure you will be fine. As for post-EC, get yourself a Percy to ensure complete and utter bedrest Grin

Sorry I've not read anything beyond maybe's post about being able to trigger tonight, but brooking for you all regardless. Cups, hope glasto has been good to you!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 01/07/2013 18:16
GenericDietCola · 01/07/2013 18:40

Maybe, that's brilliant re your trigger. Brooking EC goes well too.

Cups, I am so excited for you too!

Welcome to the newbies. I'm a post grad with a scrummy 6 month old brooking baby boy and I couldn't have done it without the brookers!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/07/2013 18:44

What's a Percy?!

BlindKitty · 01/07/2013 18:57

penguin I don't always u dear stand everything either tbh and I've been ttc for 2 years! geek did do 'an idiots guide to ivf' a while back that she might share again? although I've already forgotten it I get the ic from eBay £3.49 for 25 when I last got some and then they gave me another 10 for feedback!

cups I'm soooo impressed with you're well behaved glasto I clearly would have ruined myself, hence why I just didn't go. You totally deserve to get preggers now!

farmer Giles, bum grapes, Percy the pile Grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/07/2013 19:08

Well first injection done, I was a bit of a wimp and nearly couldn't do it. DH gave me a pep talk and I managed to do it Grin
It's not that bad at all it's just overcoming the psychological barrier of stabbing yourself! It all feels very real now.

Geek!!! Lovely to see you, how are you? Maybe I really hope you and I don't get a Percy Smile

Kitty it was hard not drinking at all. DH managed it as well, I was amazed he didn't crack. How are you doing?

Fox ha sounds like something I would do. I've collected a few random baby things over the years that I keep hidden in the wardrobe. Sorry to hear AF is visiting. This month will be your month.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 01/07/2013 19:09

Hello Gen how is are your lovely DC?

GenericDietCola · 01/07/2013 19:28

Maybe, don't go popping an ovary!

Cups, I'm fine ta and the dc are lovely. Well done you on the first stabbing! Only 13 to go, then you will be stimming!

By the way brookers, I was at a church fete on sat and was v disappointed that there wasn't a smack the rat game. Sad

Fox82 · 01/07/2013 19:33

Well done cups for stabbing yourself! Must be really difficult to actually do it!!
