Last month (May) my partner and I began trying to conceive; my most fertile days were calculated as between the 22nd and 26th May. We tried conceiving more than once a day on each day and after having sex until now I have been having period like pains. I was getting my hopes up as I thought I was pregnant. My period was due yesterday but has still not come. Yesterday and today I have been feeling really sick but the period pains have been stronger. I done pregnancy tests yesterday and today but both were negative. I really don't want to get my hopes up but I cant help it! Has this happened to anyone else and they have actually been pregnant? Or am I likely to start my period soon? I know that it is early days in TTC and that it could still be a long while yet but every symptom I get I am instantly researching! Thanks in advance to anyone who replies to this thread! xx

Hey. No-one can give you a definite answer, unfortunately. Please don't get your hopes too high - it hurts if they have to come crashing down. BUT, it took me about 6wks to get a postive test for one of my pregnancies. It happens. It's a waiting game, and it's shit, but you might get the answer you're looking for. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Best of luck x

When you say you calculated your most fertile days, how did you do this? Did you monitor your cycles for several months in advance and record instances of fertile cervical mucus, etc?

What I'm trying to get at is that you may have calculated your fertile dates incorrectly.

The best thing to do is aim to have sex 3 times a week throughout your cycle, that way if you ave miscalculated and you actually ovulate earlier/later than expected, you should still get the timing right.

It is also possible that (presuming you e been on hormonal contraception until now) your body has not settled back into its natural rhythm.
