We've had our day 21 test and sperm analysis and I've had an ultrasound. All normal. This month will be our 20th cycle ttc.

What will the fertility guy do? Refer me on for an hsg?

Thanks

Thanks! Going in an hour. Ideally I'd like him to wave a magic wand and make me fertile! Think it's likely?!

Maybe if you're actually going to see a wizard! Grin

I'm still waiting for my first appoinment so I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience, but from what I've read on my local fertility clinic's website:

they go through you and dh's health history and the results of your tests, your bmi, etc.

they ask other health related questions like whether you smoke or if there is a history of certain health problems in your family.

they might arrange for you to have other tests done, which I assume they would with you if there are no obvious reasons for you not conceiving?

Did you look up your clinic online? Mine has a factsheet which details everything they do.

Good luck! Let us know how you got on.

Ok this is what he said:
Apparently c sections do not cause infertility, ever.

Then he said he could refer me for an hsg but I had to consider if it was worth it because the outcome will be the same whatever. Either
A) the hsg will show I will need assistance conceiving because the tubes are blocked but the nhs won't help me because I have a child already, or
B) the hsg will be clear in which case the nhs won't do anything else for me because they haven't found anything wrong.

So basically the nhs will do nothing else either way. So we either keep trying and hope for the best or have the hsg and at least know if it's even worth us trying.
