Secondary infertility and c section?

I am currently experiencing secondary infertility following an emergency c section. Looking at the Internet this seems quite common (1 in 8). I wish I'd known before hand how risky the c section would be fertility wise, although admittedly I had no choice but to have the c section.

I just wondered if anyone else was having or had a similar experience? Previously conceived easily but following a c section unable to have any more dc?

Hmmm. Didn't know about this. Well, maybe I heard something a long time back but never really gave it much thought. We've been ttc #2 for 15 months now. I had an emergency c-section in 2009. Should I be looking for a connection I wonder??

Yes that happened to us. I had an emergency c section where my womb tore unexpectedly. we were ttc for 3 years for number 2. We went through all the tests and were told that was the explanation as the womb doesn't receive the egg so easily as there is scar tissue there. We decided to leave it at one child and gave up trying. 2 months later, conceived. I managed a VBAC. 5 years later, 2 fab kids but I wouldn't try again as I have had to have adhesions removed via laproscopy which still cause me pain now. Scar tissue after surgery is very damaging. I don't think it is discussed nearly enough pre any surgery and I definitely don't think as many people would opt for an elective cs if they knew that 8 years later you would still have pain after it. I can feel it know grumbling away as I type.
