possible to be pregnant with period ?!

Is it possible to be pregnant yet have a period, not just spotting but a 'real' period. Sounds like a silly question but it could have happened this month, I have felt nauseous, metallic taste in mouth as with DD1, but AF came on day 24, bit early which was strange too, any ideas ? would it be a waste of money to test if I have a period ?

Don't want to give anyone false hope, but I had at least one proper period when PG with DS. 1st AF came and went exactly as normal, assumed I wasn't pregnant, 2nd AF was much lighter than usual, which is when I did a test and got my BFP. Only queried it when I had a scan at what I thought would be 6.5 weeks and baby measured 9 weeks! We sat down and worked out the dates and he must have been conceived about 4 days before the 1st AF. I don't know how it happened, he shouldn't even have been able to implant really, but he's a very healthy 7 year old now!

My mum also had periods for at least 4 months while PG with me - didn't realise she was pregnant till she felt me move. So yes, it definitely does happen.

haha, everytime everyone on this thread gets AF will now still b testing away!!

Got bfn, bleeding stopped now-only had 2 days of period rather than the usual 7 and all symptoms still there.
but a big fat 'not pregnant' in black and white says it all really :'(

I had a miscarriage in October last year and since then we've been TTC again, I've turned into a psycho but this month I really thought I was pregnant, sore boobs more than usual before AF and nauseous but AF came on day 30. Can't read anything into dates as AF been irregular since MC. I have tingly boobs still which is weird because only usually have that when PG so now even more obsessed. I'm on day 2 of AF and so far it's been every colour/flow I could dream off. I've been uncharacteristically eating loads but I'm putting that down to serious wishful thinking. Fingers and toes crossed nonetheless :)

Hey girls ave got a question I done the deed with my partner on Monday and Tuesday also so many time throughout last month and wondering if I could be pg I've been having sore heads peeing more tired more boobs ain't soreand abdominal pain but nipples are a little also feel bloated all the time but I was ment to start my period yesterday which came last night a bit heavy and not so much now but it's became a tiny bit clotty and stringy no criticism not everyone is intelligent lol

It's not possible to have real period bleeding where the uterine lining is shed during pregnancy, but you can have period-like bleeding for lots of reasons. I found this article super helpful. It goes into a lot of detail on the why.

Hi all, I'm convinced I'm pregnant, it's been about 4 weeks since I thought I might have conceived and I had a period but only for 2.5 days (normally lasts 5 days) and since I've been having symptoms such as sore boobs (sharp pains), they feel rather large too, my bra now doesn't fit properly, I feel nauseous (not every day) but food tastes bizarre and sometimes I could eat loads and other days I could quite happily not eat anything! I have strange stomach cramps, bloating, peeing a lot including waking up at night but I still had my period... Took two tests and got negative but I just have this strange feeling! To top it off I just want to sleep all the time! Do you think it's worth seeing the doctor? Don't want to face the disappointment if I'm not!

So I know ththese posts are very very old in mom years, but I'm exactly word to word in the same boat as you today faerfaeryspirit3, I go tomorrow to the doc to confirm, but plz tell me how did it go for you, coz my husband thinks I'm paranoid, I'm beginning to feel the same. But my body is speaking a different language then the tests and everyone else

Hi I'm after a bit of advice ...
We did the deed beginning of last month in fertile window .. and the first couple of weeks I couldn't stop burping and horrible wind and very hungry... af came day after I was due but it didn't seem right first 3 days was very watery pink when wipe then u had 2 heavy days than last day was light brown spotting? I usually spot brown for couple of days before af.
Since then I've felt like I've had flu in me legs very painful back cyatica couple of days ago and today my throats feels sick ? I'm due again tomorrow but I haven't had any spotting no symptoms of me about to have period ... oh and I've done 3 tests last one last week and negative... am I reading to much in to it ? This feeling sick in throats is driving me mad . Any ideas ?
