Pack those reindeer sleeping bags, huskies and skis - we're off to the Antarctic to look for our BFPs. Unlike Scott, we'll eat the poniez if necessary (topical joke). Let's huddle together through the Antarctic night and we'll try not to kidnap one of the emperor penguin toddlers for our very own. Bring on blizzards, pack ice, shipwreck, attacking leopard seals, voyages across the Southern Ocean in rowing boats and hazardous traverses of South Georgia in search of rescue - just like the Shackleton expedition, NO BESH WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.

A childhood friend who I've not seen in years has just posted this on facebook: "my thoughts on today... children: can't live with 'em, no point in living without 'em". I don't know whether to cry or be furious. I am now glad that the nausea that rose up about an hour ago is preventing either reaction from really taking hold.

There is no way I can reply to that without outing myself, is there?

Evil, rather than reply to the status why not a nice passive aggressive status update of your own along the lines of "it's such a shame when people engage their mouth before their brain".

Good on you frank. I didn't find mine helpful, but I was glad I gave it a go. I think you really need to hit it off with the counsellor and I concluded mine was pleasant enough but a bit pointless.

Draf that is horrible. I'm not sure how I would respond to it. Can you think of someone really inspirational who has not had children and sarcastically say "yes, you're obviously right" or something like that?

I have to say that having booked the counsellor I'm feeling a bit better already. I'm a natural worrier/stress head/control freak so knowing I have the ability to offload on someone and not feel guilty about it is a big thing for me. I worry about other people so don't like to bother them with how I'm feeling a lot of the time, which is a big part of the problem as I then bottle everything up. Head case!

Technical question ladies; my droid only ever hangs around for about 36 hours. Is that a Bad Sign? I don't think the NHS has asked me about length of period..

moll possibly what rie said, possibly lining too thin if not much is coming out (although I have seen elsewhere that women with short light periods seem to have fine linings on scans, so it's just a thought).

frank scannage is at lunchtime, thanks for asking. I will be back to report afterwards. I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. I think droid arrival time is always the lowest point as you have the hormonal dip which makes a lot of people moody/teary anyway combined with the news that you are out for that cycle. It's an unpleasant double whammy. I always felt my mood lift around day 3 or 4 of my cycle.

Interesting Rie, thanks. My cd21 test did show low progesterone, but since I was OVing on cd21, I put it down the test being at the wrong time.
Just had a quick look at the symptoms and I certainly have quite a few of them. I'll bring it up when I'm next at the docs.

Well ladies, I am just back from my scan and it is not good news. The sac is visible but it's about half the size it should be for 6 weeks. I have a rescan booked for a week's time, but I think I know how this one ends. Am back at work and trying to hold it together so please don't say anything to make me cry!
