Apparently everything looks fine.
The right egg follicle was large which she said meant I'd just ovulated or was about to which is what I thought as am on cycle day 12 and got a positive opk late last night.
She said 'you're here because of secondary infertility?' Which ridiculously upset me but I suppose it's because it's the first time anyone has actually called it infertility.

Tbh I was expecting the scan to be fine as I think the problem is more likely that the tubes are blocked or scarred or both from an infection after my first baby. Looks like it'll be an hsg scan next.

Still I guess it's ruled out a cyst or anything, would endo show up too?

Hey can't be much help, didn't wanna read and run!

I had an ultrasound last week to look for an abnormalities all came back clear, I have been told though that endo can only been seen through a lap not sure how true that is tho as I'm under 30 and vent tried for a year yet I'm having trouble getting any further tests, everything is dismissed as menstral pains.

Hope you get ur bfp soon Sorry I couldn't help you tho!

Hi,

I wish she had used the term "secondary subfertility" instead because it is far more accurate. I guess you were too upset and or shocked to reply.

Endometriosis is not detected on ultrasound scans. Mine was only found when a laparoscopic type operation (keyhole surgery) was performed.

When are you seeing the gynae cons?.

hey attila hope you dont mind me asking but how long did it take for your diagnosis?

as iv said iv been to the gp twice now and explained that im having constant cramps throught my cycle aswell as slight spotting after dtd and some pain during.

doctor sent me for an ultasound as iv had cysts before and has now dismissed my claims as menstral as the scan came back clear.

dont really know what to do now. kinda feel like know one is taking me seriously. any info would be much appericiated

thanks :)

I waited nearly a year to be diagnosed with endometriosis once I was in the NHS system.

My follow up appt with the gynae post op was somewhat of an eye opener; he explained more about endo and I was thinking as I was looking at my uterine cavity with extnesive endo, "no wonder I have been in pain all these years". I'd had both painful and heavy periods (and not much of a cycle to speak of due to PCOS) since I was 14.

In my experience anyway GPs are pretty much not up to speed at all (I'm being charitable here) when it comes to such issues; I would insist that you are referred to a gynae if this has not already happened. You need to see a specialist asap.

In the meantime keep a daily pain and symptom diary; this will give the gynae clues. BTW deep pain during sex is highly indicative of endometriosis being present. The bleeding and cramps should also be properly investigated.

www.endo.org.uk is a helpful website.
