I couldn't bring myself to call her a bitch, we still need her help! Come on ladies, let's do this thing....

OP posts:
alyant79 · 05/03/2013 21:57

So I just poas hoping for a bfn (3 weeks post mc). And wtf!? It is still positive :(
Is this common guys?
Have been ttc but its way to early to test for that, so I'm sure that's not it (would only just be implanting, maybe).
Stupid stupid body.
Congrats on the bfn bod that's great.

alyant79 · 05/03/2013 21:59

I mean bfp, not bfn for bod, obviously

Thunderbuns · 05/03/2013 22:00

Hey choc. Do you know how cbfm compares to cb digi opks- eg where does the smiley fall in the 5 high peak days?

Grin at bods huge boobs. How are you feeling?

jmf sorry you're feeling rough Sad

Bodicea · 05/03/2013 22:19

Feeling fine thunder - no other symptoms.

Cream egg - you are made if stronger stuff than me. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Jmf - everyone I know inc me both times has been poorly after mc. It's like your body just shuts down - need lots of rest and TLC

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 05/03/2013 22:25

Alyant I'm just about to do my weekly POAS and am expecting my first BFN. My MC was 5 weeks ago. It can take a while for hCG levels to go down to 0.

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 05/03/2013 22:28

I think if you test weekly and they get lighter that's still residual hCG. If you test weekly and they stop fading and start getting darker again then this can signal a new PG.

MrsSpencerReid · 05/03/2013 22:34

I've done one poas post mc, a couple of days ago, mc completed last wed and got a bfn, but sac stopped growing 5w ago does that sound right? Am mighty confused now, no one at hosp said anything about doing a preg test!
Also, aspirin, should I be taking this whilst TTC or just when preg? Only got started on it when I got seen in this preg so a bit confused! will keep drinking the malibu

Thunderbuns · 05/03/2013 22:34

aly yeah I think I still had a positive at that point I'm afraid. I think I read somewhere that the length of time can relate to how long you were pg- does that make sense or is that more to do with cycles getting back to normal. Anyway, keep an eye on it like saggy says. She's a wise one.

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 05/03/2013 23:22

Not sure about 'wise' Thunder! Confused
MrsSpencer repeated POAS until you get a BFN is an alternative to repeated hCG blood tests I think if it is a cut and dried MC then you can just POAS because you're just looking for the end, so to speak. Mine was a PUL probably ectopic, so they wanted to keep a closer eye on what was happening as they couldnt see anything in the scan, to check nothing was retained, so did the blood tests. Sounds like they knew where your PG was and were happy everything had passed.
Im taking aspirin now. I decided I was going to be proactive. I will be discussing it with the GP tomorrow though so will report back with any comments.

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 05/03/2013 23:23

RIGHT. Have just POAS and got BFN. So that is that. The line has been drawn. Time to move on. Next time I see that line...

MrsSpencerReid · 05/03/2013 23:28

Thanks Smile now to book some sexy time with OHWink

MrsSpencerReid · 05/03/2013 23:28

Oh and Grin for the bfn

shellshock7 · 06/03/2013 06:58

BFN Sad

I'm not saying I'm defo out but I got the wavery leg thing and 'that' feeling in my tummy this morning so may not even have to test tomorrow Sad Do feel a bit sick tho, but putting that down to the very early start due to work this morning!

Thunderbuns · 06/03/2013 07:28

Grin saggy

Arse shell. Give it a few days, you never know...

CupOfTeaSandwiches · 06/03/2013 08:02

Hello - I'm wondering if it's ok to join this thread? I had a MMC in January and an ERPC at the beginning of February. AF arrived yesterday, so I am glad my body is getting back to normal quickly, but it also made me feel really sad in a funny way.

We've decided to TTC again straight away although in as relaxed a way as possible. Saying that, I'm terrified! Scared of it happening again I suppose.

I was wondering what things do I need to do to help myself along? I'm taking all my vitamins & folic acid. I've seen mention on here of baby aspirin. Is this recommended for everyone? I've already got two DC, but am approaching 39 now, so would a need for this have come about due to my increased age? Grin

Thanks in advance for any replies to my questions and wishing you all speedy BFPs!

JanieLovesCake · 06/03/2013 08:20

Hi cup sorry you've had to join us, hopefully the arrival of AF can mean a new start for you. I'm interested in finding out about this baby aspirin as well as I've seen a few people mention it.

Sorry about your bfn shell Sad don't give up yet though x

thunder any chance you could give me a wollop with that fish? I stupidly poas this morning in the hope that maybe my body's different and will tell me I'm pg only 7dpo BlushBlushBlushBlush whhhyyyyyyyyyyyyyy did I do it! Obv a bfn.

Hope you all have a good Wednesday xx

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 06/03/2013 08:21

Cup I'm going to ask that question at the GP today. Will report back...

DIYandEatCake · 06/03/2013 08:24

cupoftea sorry you find yourself here but welcome. As far as I know, aspirin is sometimes recommended by doctors for women who have something going on with their blood that makes miscarriage more likely. Normally I don't think aspirin is recommended in pg, so maybe best check with your doctor to be on the safe side?

Congratulations bodicea, that's an amazingly early result!

Another negative here and I have a stinking cold today so that explains feeling unwell yesterday. I feel like af is on the way too. Dammit. Feeling quite depressed now and stupid for being so hopeful.

Good luck to everyone else testing.

alyant79 · 06/03/2013 09:08

So I rang the EPU this morning in light of my still bfp 3 weeks after mc (even though you guys said it can be quite common).
They want me to come back in for another scan on friday to make sure everything really did come out.
Fingers crossed it did!!! want this to be all over :(

Hi cup, know what you mean about the first AF. really don't want mine to come (as ttc already), but also want it to come so I know everything is back to normal and works ok... ho hum. doesn't really matter what I want, does it? Body will do what it wants

Bodicea · 06/03/2013 09:50

Jane and cupoftea I am taking low dose aspirin after two mcs. I have been found to have a potential blood clotting issue however I was recommended to take the aspirin before that was found out as its such a low dose it can't hurt. Many doctors recommend with the idea - cant hurt, might help. It's only 75 mg. idea is it prevents tiny clots forming in the blood vessels to the baby x
Guess its down to personal choice x

SpanishLady · 06/03/2013 10:12

congrats Bodicea - excellent news!

Saggy - fantastic (so to speak) that AF has arrived - and good luck with appointment today - I'm also interested in the baby asprin though am not aware I have any issues with my blood clotting - which per my limited understanding is what the baby asprin is about.

I'm 4+6 (by my timings!) today and feel like time is moving sooo slowly. I wasnt planning on calling the MW until I'm 7 weeks - does that seem too long - I mean given my circumstances - I think not as even if they want to scan me you cant see anything until then anyway?

alyant79 · 06/03/2013 10:30

sounds like a good plan spanish. you could maybe call then at 6 weeks to give them time to book you in for an early scan if they/you want to?

Time is crawling by...

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 06/03/2013 11:29

Hey all

Not going to do a good job of replying to everyone as I'm on my phone and finding it a struggle. I'm in bed today, dosed up on cold and flu tablets. Feeling pretty diabolical, even though it is technically just a nasty cold. Hope others that were poorly yesterday are doing better.

Bod, really delighted for you. Love people having good news on this thread. Likewise very happy for those with AF all arrived. I think I might crawl out of bed later to pick up pregnancy test and check its negative as haven't had one yet (though haven't done one for ages either).

Spanish, that plan sounds fine. It's similar to mine for when/if I get pregnant again. Don't want to get involved with it for as long as pos!

Hey cups, sorry you have to be here.

SpanishLady · 06/03/2013 11:59

excellent - thanks for replies!

SaggyOldClothCatpuss · 06/03/2013 15:09

Right. Ive spoken to the GP. Aspirin is useful if you have a few specific clotting problems, or in the case of recurrent MC, but he isnt recommending it as a 'just in case'. He apparently used to work in antenatal and saw many many women who had MC and only a very tiny % of those were put on aspirin. So there we go. One less thing to worry about here!
In general Im feeling particularly low today, I think its a combination of AF hormones and getting no sleep because of the pain in my neck. I just want to curl up under a rock. MN keeps me going at times like this. Sad
