Pink congratulations!!! What a lovely way to start Friday!!

sambrads · 15/02/2013 08:55

congrats notso and pink Grin

ward how you feeling now?

for the ladies who were asking about thyroid problems i have got an underactive thyroid i developed it after DC1. i had no problems concieving DC1 but with DC2 i had to get fertility treatment as i wasnt having any periods and therefore not ovulating so after i got my thyroid levels good i had to get treatment to kick start my ovaries.
if you think u may have a thyroid problem defo get checked out its very important to be monitored well in pregnancy.

Wardy17 · 15/02/2013 09:50

Morning ladies, tested with fmu this morning, one week late and still BFN. Definitely think that I poss didn't ovulate this cycle. Just wish AF would arrive now so I can move on to next cycle. Don't feel like AF is going to come but don't feel pg either.

Congrats pink

Wardy17 · 15/02/2013 12:40

Losing my mind!!!

Springbells · 15/02/2013 13:27

Congratulations pink!

Thanks for the info sambrads. Suspect this may be the route I've gone. Will know by middle of next week.

Wordy - Sad hugs x

Springbells · 15/02/2013 13:27

Bloody autocorrect.....

notsoold · 15/02/2013 14:29

Wardy....could it mean that you ovulated late or are about to? If you ovulated late or about to is annoying but hopefully you dtd at the right time...xxxx

Wardy17 · 15/02/2013 14:38

Possibly nots but I went a week during the 2ww without Dtd because I thought I had ovulated so if I didn't ovulate late I've probably missed it!! The Opk I was using said I ovulated around the 25/01 but I have since found out that you can have an LH surge and not ovulate.

This ttc is hardwork!!!

bluefreckles · 15/02/2013 14:44

I'm out. Aunt Flo just turned up and she's proper mad. Angry

Springbells · 15/02/2013 15:10

Ladies, anyone using a conception/fertility app to chart dates etc?

Wardy17 · 15/02/2013 15:27

Does anyone know if I have missed my period because I didn't ovulate this cycle.....how will I know when I'm due to ovulate again?

QueenofClean · 15/02/2013 16:53

I've still not started bleeding so there is hope still! Smile

Wardy I have no idea in regards to your question x

pinkmoonlight · 15/02/2013 17:55

Thanks ladies! Grin My DH is due home any minute so I've just dashed into town like a mad person to buy him a 'happy valentines day daddy' card. I had to ask the shop staff to let me look through the pile of cards that they had taken down- they thought I was a total nutter!

I use fertility friend wardy :)

Ariel21 · 15/02/2013 18:37

I downloaded the Fertility Friend app but it befuddled me so I deleted it. I use Ladytimer, which I have found useful for recording symptoms and supposedly working out when ovulation/period is due to occur.

Congrats pink ! A happy and smooth 9 months to you.

After thinking AF had arrived yesterday, all I've had was some slight spotting, first red now brown. What's all this about? Should I do a test?! Only guessing at a 28 day cycle so might not even be late yet.

notsoold · 15/02/2013 18:51

Spring I use "my days"....nice and easy.

Bluefreckles sorry about the witch...x

Queen....excellent news!!! Fx for you!!!

Pink well done you...

Wardy...it is very stressful this ttc...xxx

Wardy17 · 15/02/2013 18:54

Really down today. Definitely not pg, no sign of AF don't know when I'm going to come on therefore have no idea when I will ovulate again and all this now puts me back at least a month maybe two. I know there's no rush but I'm feeling really sorry for myself Sad

sambrads · 15/02/2013 19:08

wardy i know the feeling Sad i justt wish AF woud come now so I can start trying again. havent a clue when thats gonna happen. i think when ur AF comes just DTD every other day from CD10 unti CD 28 and hopefully you will get the right time. big hugs for you xox

Springbells · 15/02/2013 20:00

Wardy, from the reading I've done, if you get the lh surge and the cm linked to ovulation, likelihood is you will ovulate. It's rare not to if you have the indicators present, although it does happen occasionally. I didn't have a positive opk this month, hence thinking lack of ovulation. As you have had a mc it is likely you will ovulate next cycle, as you've done so before, but it may be this ones out of kilter due to mc. Use opks and at least if you don't get a positive you've got someone to take to the docs if you have a long cycle again. I can guess how you feel (would never consider saying I know) , last cycle was a killer and it wasn't the first. But we're all here when you need us x.

Oh, ps just had a thought, I'm sure I saw someone saying there's a herbal remedy/vitamin to help regulate cycles, can anyone shed any light?

lyndsey90 · 15/02/2013 20:09

I don't know when I'm due to have af or ovulatd due to mc.... So confused!!

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 15/02/2013 20:15

Pink and Notso well done! Brilliant news!

Sorry I haven't been on here this week, work has been so busy that I haven't been on mumsnet at all! Unheard of!

Wardy it is possible to have a pos OPK and not ovulate, and it is possible to have no pos OPK and ovulate! They are useful but can miss your surge, or your surge might naturally not be high enough to trigger them. I have never had a positive OPK but I know I ovulate as I have been pregnant! Temping is more accurate, but only tells you that you have already Ov'd that cycle, and a day 21 blood test is supposedly the only way to 100% confirm ovulation.

My GP recently tested me for thyroid issues (hypothyroid) because of wacky long cycles and low body temperature. They did one blood test and managed to rule out PCOS, thyroid, cancer, menopause....and they did that after just two longer than usual cycles. It really annoys me that some GPs will do tests and spend a few quid on you, whilst others will fob you off indefinitely.

So this week I have had sore boobs (since 4 dpo), pink spotting on Wednesday and nausea when not shovelling food in my gob. Trying to keep a lid on hopefulness...11 dpo so I should probably test!

Springbells · 15/02/2013 20:17

Ariel, notsoold, thanks for the tips, will have a look a those!

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 15/02/2013 20:41

Spring agnus castus is supposed to help regulate cycles. But then I have heard other people on forums saying it has had the opposite effect! If you google it you will read positive and negative stuff. I have also heard good things about taking B vitamins to regulate cycles, particularly if you problem is a shortened luteal phase...B6 and B12 I think. And good old Evening Primrose has long form for regulating and calming cycles...but don't use it after ov as it isn't good if you are up-duffed.

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 15/02/2013 20:46

And for anyone wondering about not ovulating, I would heartily recommend temperature charting. It is a bit of a faff initially and you have to remember to set your alarm, but I can't tell you how much of a relief it was to see the temperature shift happening, even though my chart looks like the rocky mountains. You can't fake a temperature change and it also tells you pretty much to the day when to expect your AF...so you know for certain if you are late!

Another plus that people report (and I hope to find out!) is that you know without taking a test if you are pregnant, due to the continued high temps coming up to AF. Fingers crossed!

Anyway I have only just started charting so if anyone wants a novice's guide from a green as cabbage beginner, I could very well be your woman!

Springbells · 15/02/2013 21:21

Ooh quicksie, sounds positive, when are you planning on testing? And has the bbt been elevated since ovulation? Find this stuff fascinating, and thanks for the tips on the supplements. By the sounds of it though there's all sorts of effects they could have. Will give it another cycle to see if it settles down I think.

BeQuicksieorBeDead · 15/02/2013 21:58

Spring that sounds really sensible...I read so often about people who have tried about 8 different things in one month! I can see how it happens though, patience is not easy to find when TTC!

My bbt has been elevated since ovulation, so I know I ovulated. It has stayed above my 'coverline' temperature for 11 days now...I think I might test tomorrow as I am supposed to be going out on a big one with my mate, the drink is one thing (thanks Queen for the voice of reason), but the certainty of falling over at least once is another!

Will update here if I do test, I promise! After MMC last year, I am scared to know too early, it is so long til the 12 week scan! Also, if I am pregnant, my due date will be exactly the same as last year...how freaky is that! And my due date will be halloween. Cue Twilight Zone music!
