ttc friendly lube??

I read somewhere that you shouldn't use normal lube if ttc as it can kill off the sperm. Can anyone recommend a brand that is ok to use when ttc? We're just using normal durex play stuff (blue bottle) at the minute. Thanks! Grin

Try Conceive Plus or Pre-seed. Stay away from the normal ones. Good luck Smile

You essentially have two choices - preseed or conceive plus. Depends on what you need it for - I think the preseed is probably better for during and to encourage the swimmers. However if you like it for foreplay, the conceive plus is probably a better bet. Be warned though - its ruddy cold! You get a bit of a Shock, it needs warming in your hands first!

Thanks ladies

Quick question though - why is preseed better for during sex? That's the main reason we want to use it but just wondering why this is better for sex and the other one is better for foreplay? Sorry if this is a dumb question!!

Preseed only comes with an applicator - fine to lubricate your insides. However if you want to use in it foreplay (y'know, to assist with pleasuring him and round your outside bits!) then conceive plus is more like the lube you've previously been using. Does that make sense?

Yep! That makes perfect sense! Thanks for your help. Xxx

I think you can get pre-seed in a tube-only format (with no applicators) to use in foreplay - here.

But LittleFaith is right that Conceive Plus is a bit more like normal lube - it's slightly stickier and thicker.

Having tried both I have to say I prefer Conceive Plus in individual applicators. There is no faffing about with it, just twist the cap off, insert, squeeze and off you go (about 10 mins later). I have no idea if it helps the sperm or not but it certainly helps when you are feeling a bit dry (but I haven't conceived yet!). I also have a tube if I want to use it externally.

I am keeping the fact I am using it away from DP as I think the technical aspects of TTC might put him of his stride Grin (although there is not hiding my BBT thermometer first thing!) It has taken the pressure off having sex at certain times as I used to worry if I would be able to get lubricated every time. I end up enjoying BD'ing much more as I am relaxed.

Thanks for all your help ladies. I got some conceive plus in boots yesterday and nearly died when I saw the price! £15 for a bottle! This baby making business is not cheap...but I'd gladly pay it if it helps me get pg! Good luck to us all! Xx Smile

It lasts for ages though and doesn't say 'use within' (which helped me justify the price!). Glad to have helped :)
