Oh. This is very vexing.
MNHQ can we have our friend back please?

Grrrrr! I've been quiet the last few days as this cycle is an absolute cock up, I've turned 30 and, quite frankly, I've got a right mood on me. HOWEVER, I feel the need to comment tonight - it's ridiculous that viv/gail has seemingly been kicked out again.

I do appreciate that the AIBU thread upset some people but I think the most contentious viv actually said on there was misinterpreted anyway. There are some massively insulting/obnoxious/downright offensive things said on there about different groups/types of people every day. This whole 'reporting' thing reminds me of the little tale-tellers in my class, always trying to get someone in trouble!

MEH. (sad)

@happylass

Aw bloody hell they've got Gail again! I read these messages and not one of them were even bordering on inappropriate. What's going on?!?

Evening all. Sorry for the many vexing deletions but we're sorry to say that Gail is a poster who has been previously banned from Mumsnet. As you can imagine, we do not allow folks we have banned to come back and post again.

I do hope the banning wasn't for the AIBU thread... I'm afraid one that one I am truly on Gail's side

Boodle poor you. And happy birthday (assuming it was recent). I hated 30 too...especially as in my head I still act feel 24!

I have just written and deleted pre posting a large rant about Viv's banning (on the assumption it is for the AIBU thread) because she did NOT break the talk guidelines with anything posted. But then decided it wasn't worth it and wouldn't do any good.

So Viv if you're reading happy to carry on the fun via email - [email protected] (I promise I will not ban you from mailing me regardless of what you send!!)

I liked 30 as I felt I could say "I'm too old for this shit" and it actually mean something..

MNHQ - if Gail hasn't said or done anything offensive, can't you let her have a second chance? I'm aware that when she was on as Viv her AIBU thread upset people (I didn't see it so I can't really make a comment either way), but we like her and she hasn't offended anyone since she's been back on. It just seems a bit.. headteachery. We're all adults, can't we wait until there's just cause for complaint before people get kicked off? I don't like being Big Brothered. We're all dealing with a difficult and crappy and personal thing and it sucks when we can't talk to each other.
That is all I have to say about that.

I agree with captain. Gail has always been very supportive of us all on this hideous TTC journey. I'm wondering if someone she upset in the past has reported her? I read her AIBU thread and to be honest I read far worse on there every day.

Report
Pipbin · 08/02/2013 23:17

I agree, if someone complains then ban her, fair enough. But this time no one has complained, as far as we know.

Free the Elderberry one!!!

I miss her already and I'm only a lurker Sad I have read far worse posted on MN.

Come on MN can we please have our Gail back? Whatever she may have said doesn't deserve a life ban. I'm a teacher and if I permanently banned every pupil who said something inappropriate if have none left which would be lovely Everyone deserves a second chance. Thank you.

Hello Rach . How's it going? You must be almost half way through by now??

Morning. And we're sorry you're upset about this.

But we hope you'll understand that if a banned poster returns to Mumsnet in another guise, and without even attempting to talk to us at MNHQ, we do have to take action.

It might help to know that Gail's recent incarnation as viviennewestwould was not her first banned Mumsnet registration.

Thank you for the reply Mumsnet, it's good to know that you are listening to us. I'm sure you had a good reason to do this.
Not that I'm saying this is the case with Viv but I think we do need to remember that we only have people at their word about who they say they are. We give away an awful lot of personal details here that we wouldn't say to our closest friends.

Oh dear, right then let's start afresh.

Who is next to POAS? I hope my fellow DTDers have had a more successful week than us.

I think we might be taking a few months off as its just too tough and stressful!

Report
Boodle9 · 09/02/2013 10:34

Hey bunny - I'm 4 DPO according to FF but I suspect I may only be 2. If I am only 2 then there really is no chance as it was 5 days later than the last DTD action (due to a tired, ill DH, as if that should be an excuse....I'm ALWAYS tired and ill.)

I won't be peeing on a stick, but I suspect I will be back to CD 1 within the next 7 days or so.

I'm just sitting tight and waiting for my fertility consultant appointment to come through. It's been 3 weeks now - how long must I wait?!

Report
happylass · 09/02/2013 10:50

Nowhere near the front of the POAS queue. Am 2-3 dpo (unsure due to some weird temperatures Confused). When was the last BFP on this thread? November?!
Sorry to hear things are getting too much Bunny. Weren't you thinking of going to see the GP? Boodle how long were you TTC before you got your referral?

Hi Happy and all you other lovely ladies!

Yes, 20 weeks here and it's a little girl. Smile

I would love to say everything is rosy in upduffed land but I have found so far that the whole of pregnancy is grossly overrated and I am left gobsmacked that millions of years of evolution has decided that this is the best way to grow a new human. Shock

But we are really looking forward to some new recruits over on the dark side so fingers crossed for a flurry of Elderberry BFP's very soon. I can't wait for you all to join us in feeling fat and miserable. Grin

I don't care how many times Viv/Gail has been banned. It is clear she does not mean any harm or offence to anyone but just has a sense of humour which is not to everyone's taste. I will miss her if she's not allowed back on even though I am just a stalker these days. Sad Sad Sad

Report
Bunnygirlie · 09/02/2013 11:25

Wow rache, how lovely! Glad to hear things are going well even if you don't feel you are blooming.

We haven't had an elderberry BFP in yonks! Have a feeling you'll have had that baby before I get mine Sad

boodle hope you get your appointment soon! happy I think DH and I are going to ask for the basic tests but deep down in my heart I know that we just aren't getting to DTD enough to really warrant a load of tests. As I've said before at the moment it's like we are trying to win the lottery without buying any tickets, we aren't going to make a baby unless we DTD and that ain't happening.

My apps say I have 17 days till AF and that feels like a lifetime away! At the moment I am having serious mood swings, one minute I'm fine and feel like I'm ok with it all and the next I want to throw myself down on my bed and sob my heart out!

everytime I go away for a couple of days there is a ton of drama!

bunny - I poas this morning - only 11dpo, but af feels like it is on the way and didn't want to miss out on poas again this month cos af early again like last month - bfn unsurprisingly Angry Sad I have a horrible feeling I am now adding fertility problems to my mc problems and am now feeling gloomy and depressed and teary (but that's prob just another pre-af symptom)

happy - it feels like forever since the last bfp...we def need one to cheer us all up!

Report
navis176 · 09/02/2013 11:36

oop - cross post - bunny I know exactly what you mean about the mood swings. And it doesn't help that even though my OH is nice about it all, he really just doesn't experience the same ups and downs and doesn't really get it - he figures there's no point in worrying about it, it'll either happen one way or another or it won't, and worrying about it won't change that - which in my less emotional moments I agree with, but then sometimes it just gets all too much and I feel completely useless.

Report
happylass · 09/02/2013 11:45

Aw Rach that's lovely hope all is well with the other graduates!
Bunny would you consider getting tested anyway so that when you are up for a bit more DTD action at least you know all is well?
Ladies I strongly believe that once we get one BFP on here a load will follow soon after.
