Low AMH - will they recommend Clomid?

I have just turned 40, and I have one son, who will be 3 on Saturday. We've been trying for another child for 2 years with no success. Today I received this email from the fertility clinic: "Your blood test for AMH has come back as 3 pmol/l, which is below the normal range".

What is the "normal" range for a 40-year-old? From what I can find on the internet, about 2-5 so I'm not that low? I have no idea what these numbers mean. Will they recommend a course of Clomid? Does that last 3 months? My DP and I have been taking various blood tests, and sample tests since last January, when it was discussed that the MOST important factor was the age of the female partner..... and that because time was of the essence, they would recommend IVF instead of trying to unblock tubes (if that was the case) and wait for an improvement, or try various drugs and wait for an improvement.

We have told no one of our fertility problems - certainly not in the family. I think I might have told one female friend just so I won't insane. Could someone else tell me what they think my options are at this point? I have no ovarian cysts, no PCOS, and my partner's sperm is on the low side. They are suggesting we try ICSI, but now it seems they will suggest a course of drugs.....?
