Pregnancy Tests - Is there a difference?

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the differences in pregnancy tests? Especially, the cheaper ones to the more expensive well known brands?

Some of the expensive ones are more sensitive, I.e. they can detect a lower level of HCG which is useful if you're testing early. Compare the packaging to see which ones are most sensitive. If your period is due then it doesn't matter which one you use.

I would say don't put a lot of reliance on the cheap eBay/amazon strips, they are supposed to be the most sensitive yet the lines are so faint and you end up buying other tests anyway.
I thought tesco own (2 pack £3.59) were really good - sensitive and just as good as more expensive first responses.
The most sensitive (earliest clear line) of all I got was on a test I got from the 99p store. It's in a pink and white box, you get 2 in a pack (for 99p obviously :) and they are called 'clear response'. They are mid stream tests, white with pink cap. Highly recommend them!

Superdrug are more sensitive from memory than the expensive First Response and Clear blue.

Thanks for the tips girls. I'll make sure to keep an eye out for the 99p ones when I'm next visiting the 99p store! That shop has truely has everything!

There's lots of misinformation out there.

They're all pretty similar. All pick up fairly similar levels in that they are all fairly reliable from the time your period is late. Some are better at really early testing however. This is bog all to do with price though. Cheaper ones are actually often more sensitive. Certainly ebay/amazon/poundland/99p store ones are more sensitive than Clearblue digital.

Nothing wrong with the ebay cheapies either. Just not in fancy packaging and covered in plastic. In fact they're much closer to what your gp would use.

Don't waste a load of money on fancy packaging and promises. They pick up hcg. Either you're producing it or you're not. £12.99 and a digital indicator won't make you any more or less pregnant.
