Can anyone tell me about becoming an egg donor?

Hi, I'm thinking of becomming an egg donor, in exchange for free or cheeper IVF. I'm not sure how it works, but We already have one daughter who has severe learning difficulties. I think it's on my DH's side, but can't prove it.
do you think this would this put people off wanting my eggs?
She is an absolutly gorgeous, loving little girl with a fantastic charactor, but they won't know that. They'll just see severe learning difficulties on the form.

Hi, I looked into being a donor for the same reason. It's worth you calling a clinic to ask. I think it would very much depend on your little girl's condition, whether it has a known cause and so on. To be honest I know the very much err on the side of caution and you may find this an issue - you have to fill in forms with loads of info about your family history and I had to have extra tests because one of my grandparents died of a heart attack under 50. However, they also routinely put you through a number of genetic tests before they accept you so they might be prepared to at least run the tests. It's ate at worth calling a few clinics. Good luck.

At least worth calling. Sorry damn iPhone!

Thank you. I did call one today and she said she wasn't sure, but she thinks it might be a problem. The Dr is going to phone me later in the week to discus it.
there is no known cause of my daughters learning difficulties. She is the first in one in either of our families to have problems, but saying that, my husbands nephiew has speech problems and possible ASD. So it could be on my DH's side. If so, how could we prove this?
