um, think it's quite crucial, no?

I mean the theory that every 2 days etc
I know what you mean Tinker...
But is 2-3 x a day detrimental to ttc?

Piffle, you're not serious? Sorry, I thought you were taking the piss out of those 'I had sex, could I be pregnant' threads. Apologies!

WideWebWitch · 29/03/2006 15:21

So the answer is of course not, have sex as often as you want to if you're trying to get pregnant!

Northerner · 29/03/2006 15:21

Never heard of this before. Surely the more you do it teh better your chance?

You've got to be in it to win it.

Oh, I'm confused now. Think every other day is supposed to be the optimum frequency.

Nicola63 · 29/03/2006 15:24

But... I must say that both times I have conceived it has been when our normal several times a day (sorry, but we ARE recently married Blush) routine was disrupted and we had cut down to once a day (one because he was writing exams, once because I was not well), so maybe there is something to be said for judicious moderation?

skerriesmum · 29/03/2006 15:25

I think it depends on age of partner too; Blush we tried doing it every night during the "big week" and by night three dh had no juice left!

skerriesmum · 29/03/2006 15:27

Not that we're doddering! Dh is 34 and I'm 35! I meant, maybe if you're 18 you can conjure up more swimmers...

I'd just like to let everyone know at this point that Piffle posted on another thread about her dh 'working from home' today because dd is sick. LOL!!

Erm...obviously not much work getting done in that household today....Grin

Piffle · 29/03/2006 15:38

PMSL
Well we've tried the every other night LOL
When we coneived dd we had recently moved in together and dp had been away for a week and so we were rather enthusiastic from memory..
Just figured why restrict it to 60 million sperm when could throw another 100 million at it daily Grin

My Dr advised every other day when I was ttc - she said it gave dh time to make more, healthier sperm! It worked... first month :)

Piffle · 29/03/2006 16:06

Good news Kama!!!!! Here is hoping :)
Now a quick google revealed...

Have frequent sex
Remember, too, that the more often you have sex, the more likely it is you will have intercourse on the fertile days! According to an eminent infertility expert, one of the most common causes of infertility is infrequent sex at the best time of the cycle. Your partner will not ‘run out’ of sperm. Sperm counts are slightly lower if a man has frequent sex, but since each ejaculation contains millions of sperm this will not affect his ability to produce sufficient sperm.

Thank you, well after 3 yrs I'll give anything a try almost!
Dp thinks he's landed on the love cloud. He works away usually 3-4 days a week (kiss of death for ttc)
He is only at home as dd has been so poorly so I'm taking advantage as it were.
Will update if it works!

when we conceived dd we did it every day that month Blush

CarolinaMoon · 29/03/2006 19:40

yeah, but you are fertile for a few days each month - if you have sex every other day (how spontaneous and romantic!) you will deffo be doing it while your egg is hanging about waiting to be fertilised.
