Good friend has been ttc for several years now. Just had an early miscarriage after IUI Sad and was told that at least part of her problem in conceiving naturally could be due to a tight cervix. Has anyone had this?

I had the same problem - only discovered it after infertility investigations when the HSG didn't work cause they couldn't get in there! At the time I asked the specialist whether this was the problem and he dismissed me out of hand - though I did wonder. His argument was that sperms are so tiny they can pretty much wiggle through anything .. like I said though, I did wonder.

Good luck to your friend, I'm so sorry she's having problems. If it's any consolation I did get pg naturally in the end and now have ds and dd.

If you don't mind me asking, how old were you? And how long did it take?

Started trying when I was 30, finally had ds when I was nearly 34 and conceived dd twelve months later (after only one month of trying!).

I also wondered whether dd came along so quickly was because my cervix had been 'stretched' by having ds (even though he was a c/s and I never actually went into labour). Like I say though, the consultant thought my theory was absolute rubbish! :)

It makes perfect sense to me!
