So I have had all my bloods done and they all came back fine except for low progesterone with my day 21 bloods ( but then my cycles are sooooo long that day 21 was probably wrong) however my doctor still thinks it is
Illy that I've PCOS! Has anybody had similar experience to this....normal bloods but then diagnosed with PCOS!
I have a referral to get pelvic ultrasound now so I guess I will know for certain soon! I personally think I have it as I have all the symptoms....the bloods not indicating PCOS kinda gave me a shock as I was so sure! Anyway I will stop rambling....would love to hear any similar experiences!

Hi,

Low progesterone can be but one indicator of PCOS. If progesterone is low then it is likely that your LH and FSH is out of sync. There can often be an imbalance of LH to FSH in PCOS patients.

What were your day 2 levels for LH and FSH like; were these actually tested?. Comparison between LH and FSH has to be made, these levels can look ok if only looked at separately.

I'm a 'bit PCOish' as my consultant put it - my bloods are OK and I have regular cycles, but my ovaries have a slight PCO appearance and I'm prone to being a bit overweight. I've been pregnant 6 times but had 4 miscarriages.
It is a complicated syndrome and covers a wide range of symptoms - some sufferers have no problems ttc, others struggle for years even with assisted conception.

Hi Lemon

I'm in a very similar situation. My day 2 bloods showed everything normal with the exception of my SHBG result which is a smidgen lower than it should be, I think it was something like 19 when it should be 24 (but I cant remember the exact number). So it indicates there may be an issue with PCOS/PCO.

I've got a scan booked for beginning of September as she can't make a full diagnosis just yet.

I think if you bloods arent 'screaming' at the Dr about PCOS but you have some of the other symptoms (mine include the odd chin hair and a few skin break outs) it may be that you have it BUT its a very mild case. It may affect your ability of conceive or not (as per scientists post), the important thing is the Dr is getting you throughly checked out.

When is your scan? and how long have you been TTC?
