Clearblue not increasing

Last week my period was late, so I took a test and (rather to my shock as we weren't trying, though I knew we'd had one little condom accident) it came up positive. However, nothing feels quite 'right' IYSWIM (I have two daughters, plus have had one miscarriage previously, which also felt odd from the start).

Anyway, I did a clear blue with conception thingy a few days ago and it said 1-2 weeks. Should have said 2-3, but hey. Done another one today when I must be at least 5 weeks (using FMU), and it is still saying 1-2. This happened once before, when I miscarried. Although that time it rose to 2-3 and then fell back.

I suppose my question is, what have people's experiences been and, if you did miscarry, was it quite soon? I am not specifically looking for reassurance that all might be well, I know that these indicators can be a bit bonkers. I suppose I"m just looking for some anecdotes of other people's experiences. I don't feel I can get my head around the idea of the unexpected pregnancy when I still feel it might not be at all viable.

I have been through this and read up other peoples experience online some reported the incorrect weeks and turned out ok but unfortunately that wasn't my experience.
I had a 1-2 result at just under 4weeks, and then a 2-3 at just under 5 weeks. However I then checked it at just under 6 weeks and it still said 2-3. I tried to stay positive ( although continued doing cheap tests which did not seem to be getting darker).
I started cramping and bleeding at 6 weeks and ultrasound and serial bloods confirmed mc.
On reflection I think I would ask for HCG if I felt things weren't right. Although you can't influence the outcome I'd rather know what is going on.

I meant to say good luck and fx for you!

Thanks. TBH I feel a bit weird about it all. Because it wasn't planned, and now I think it might not progress, I don't feel happy or excited. I just keep seeing the downsides of having no. 3 so quickly. I don't know if it is my way of keeping myself from being upset if it doesn't work out, or if I genuinely feel this ambivalent. Sad

I know it sounds awful, but if this pregnancy is not going to progress my main hope is that it happens quickly. It is awful being in limbo and trying to get over the shock of something that might be nothing.

It is a bit hard to search for past threads, because all the search terms I can think of come up on lots of conception threads about other things. But from what I can see, if the weeks aren't rising by week 5 it's probably not a great sign. Going up slowly doesn't seem to be so bad, and going down seems to be a pretty majorly bad sign. But that's not scientific obv!

Oh God. Also realised we are going on holiday in 3 weeks. What if I start bleeding whilst we are abroad?

Oh, and I should have said, so sorry about what happened to you Dexidoo. It sounds just like my first MC.

My experience was similar to Dexi, did a cb got 2-3 wks then a few days later 3+ I started spotting then had a big bleed and the following day it had gone down to 2-3 again so I knew it was bad, I think it can go up slowly, you may not be as far as you thought and gave ovd late but if it goes down or bleeding obviously that wouldn't be a good sign, hcg is the only way to know for sure but as you've had no bleeding etc in not sure it warrants it yet, maybe try the test again in a few days first, the doctors told me when I mc ( I didn't have last af to work from but mentioned the 3+ that they wernt reliable indicators at all and they had caused problems for them as the hcg varies by hundreds by 6 wks time so I think you will just have to sit tight for now x

Without being too graphic, I am pretty sure to within a couple of days when I am likely to have ovulated. I get pretty obvious physical symptoms and DH have only had sex a couple of times (DD2 hates to sleep....), both within a couple of days.

I know that there is very little point worrying about scans or anything until I get past 6 weeks. It is just so frustrating waiting. And I can't even have a big glass of wine to take my mind off it...

I meant to say sorry for your loss too. Thank you for sharing your experience.

I have a positive story. I got 2-3 weeks on my first digi test at around 14 days DPO (freaked me out as I thought it might be twins!) and then did another 4 or so in the following weeks but it never increased.

My 12 week scan was fine, and I am 14 weeks pregnant tomorrow. My research showed that the date indicator thing is really unreliable, so please don't worry for now as it may not necessarily be bad news.

Fingers crossed for you and my sympathies to the ladies for whom it didn't go so well

I thought I should probably conclude this thread.

I got my period today. That's effectively what I am thinking of it as - the very low hormone levels suggest that nothing ever really got going at all. I would have been 5+4. I feel rather relieved to be honest. I hope that the pregnancy tests drop back to negative nice and quickly, that I don't need anything nasty like an ERPC and we can hopefully have no. 3 if and when we plan it and can properly look forward to it Smile.
