Hi all, am about 5 weeks pregnant, had some bleeding so refered for scan, they couldn't see anything on the scan so have done blood tests.

My HCG levels on Monday were 712, which I am told are low.

Have had another blood test this morning and am just sitting by the phone waiting for the results.

Just thought I would see if anyone else has been through this???

Hi mower I had this in 2004 and unfortunately for me I did miscarry HOWEVER, what the hospital are looking for is that your levels of HCG roughly double in 48hrs and continue to do so. While that level is quite low it could just mean that you are slightly less on in your pg than you thought. They will probably ant to repeat these tests over next week or so. Hope it all works out for you!!Smile

No I haven't been through this, but fingers crossed for you. You just want to hear that they have gone up significantly since last time to know that it is all OK - the dates might have been slightly out last time to account for the low levels. Good luck.

in my first preg although i didn't have the bleeding i had the very low HCG levels. the first two tests the gp did came up neg but as i had all the other symptoms of preg he sent to the hospital.

they tested my urine and blood and told me that the levels of HCG suggested that i might have been preg but wasn't anymore. the doctor also did an internal exam and said she couldn't feel a baby.

they decided i'd miscarried but as i hadn't had bleeding they sent me for a scan. the abdomenal scan showed nothing but the radiographer had a sister who'd had a similar situation and offered me an internal scan, and low and behold there was a ten week old feotus! my uterus is apparently unusually far back!

five weeks is the typical time for implantation which might have caused your bleeding and it is possible for a baby to survive with very low HCG levels, my 13 month old dd proves that.

good luck and i hope it all works out for you Smile
