Best thing is honestly to DTD every other day. That site places a lot of emphasis on CM - but I can say that this month, that site says my CD8 should be exactly the opposite of what I've had.
I would just try to fit in rumpy pumpy at least every second or third day for the duration of your cycle.
Also, take the longest cycle you've had from CD1 to the day before the next AF. Work out total number of days - then pick the longest cycle. Work out based on the longest cycle what date you should potentially come on for this cycle. Then subtract 14 days from that day. That would give you a ROUGH estimate, based on longest possible cycle length, what the latest date you should ovulate.
Then, add three days (to make sure the shortest possible luteal phase is covered on the longest cycle). Then I would do the same with the shortest cycle you've had. That will give you a nice time to work towards.
For example:
May - CD1 was 1 June, AF arrival was 28 June - 28 day cycle
June - CD1 was 29 June, AF arrival was 2 July - 34 day cycle
I would then work out according to the June cycle of 36 days when you would be expected in July/August
Work out the same according to the normal 28 day cycle.
I would do this so that you can:
- Make sure you get the ovulation based on your longest possible cycle. Since you aren't completely sure of when you ovulated
- Then you're not relying on the OPK's - which I find unreliable
- Temperature is only good in hindsight - you actually have already ovulated when you pick up the spike so it's good to work out a pattern and then figure out when you could ovulate
It means you have to DTD for a little bit longer but you really do hold the longer period of time just in case you do ovulate a bit later than you think or a bit later that you should technically ovulate
Good luck :)
