How was it for you? Thought this might get more traffic than on the Conception board, so here goes.

On 4th cycle of clomid. 150mg. Am beginning to feel as if I am never going to get there. On the 2nd cycle I did ovulate, but didn't get pregnant. The 1st and 3rd cycle I didn't ovulate at all. It seems it's all really hit and miss.

So what I'm hoping is that there will be some MNers out there who can give me a wee boost with their positive outcomes on clomid, as I am really feeling down in the dumps this evening.

TIA

I took tamoxifen in a very similar way to clomid if I remember rightly. The fertitily clinic prescribed it.

I had to take some drug with a flowery name to get me to have a period and that had some really strange side effects - spaced me out, made me wildly emotional - horrible, after that I didn't notice any side effects with the clomid / tamoxifen.

I have pcos too btw.

Sorry not pics; pcos (bugger this predictive txt)!

Thanks for the tamoxifen info tread. Are you talking about norethisterone? That drove me nuts as well. But this time the dr told me not to bother waiting for a period, as it was all static in there.

norethisterone turned me into a murderous bitch

seriously

I looked at DH and din't want to shag him, I wanted to stab him Grin

AF tell me about it. I don't know how people manage on the pill. Isn't that what's in the mini pill?

I was ok on the pill. (apart from the ocular migraines which meant I had to stop it, but that's another story..)

But that high dose progeterone they put you on to suppress your period before starting clomid nearly was the death of DH Smile

needs with a normal BMI I do think you would have problems on clomid. I needed to get my weight down before trying the clomid as I guess there are bigger risks to pregnancy in high BMI. The metformin is also used to treat PCOS as it helps with insulin resistance which can cause problems ovulating, and it helps weight problems too! I had to take provera to induce a bleed which I guess is similar to noristherone? Thanks for the kind wishes, we are thrilled as is our DD

It may have been norethisterone, it was about 8 years ago. It made me wasted - I'd be driving along looking at someone's lovely garden and nearly crash the car!

I hope it works for you soon.

Hi, I took Clomid after having no joy, or periods for a year. (I have PCOS)
I had to take the thing to start a period, as they were completely absent when not on the pill.
I took clomid on days 2-7 I think and I had three 30 day cycles, then nothing. So assuming it had stopped working (no period and negatives tests after 2 months) I was waiting to be seen for the next step.
Then found out I was pregnant, but the scan showed I conceived around day 50!
So my ovulation was bizarre but it still worked.
Then just over a year after DS was born, my periods kicked off on their own and fell pregnant again unplanned!
Due in 6 weeks!
Clomid seems to have fixed my PCOS related non-ovulation.
Brilliant stuff! Good luck!

AnyFucker · 29/07/2012 22:28

just to mention, I ovulated very early on Clomid...about day 9/10

so don't miss your window !
