Not quite TTC yet, but know that it will be within the next few months so decided to start tracking now as I've never done it before. What changes should I be looking for in my CM? I had EWCM about 17 days before my period, should I be trying to DTD before or after that? And is that the only thin I'm watching out for other than AF?

I'm only just getting my head around it, I've always been on the pill before so just came on when I had my break, no idea about ovulation etc!! Smile

rockchick - check out fertilityfriend.com a very good website answering the questions you are asking and should help you. Hope you have success quickly when you start trying.

You can have some dry days after af, then you might get sticky, then move to lotiony and then finally eggwhite which is the most fertile. Just observe during the month and you will see a pattern emerge for your cycles. Some women only get lotiony and no eggwhite and still get pregnant.

You are most fertile whenever you have eggwhite cervical fluid. Some women never see the eggwhite stuff, or don't always see it - for them their most fertile cervical fluid may well be watery. Most women see quite a sudden 'dry up' after the eggwhite stage - drying up is a sign that ovulation has already happened (so too late). Some women go back to a creamy or sticky fluid after ovulation instead (rather than completely dry). Sometimes you will see apparently quite fertile or very watery fluid just before your period, because water is the first thing to be lost as the womb lining begins to break down. Hope that helps!
