travel insurance while having fertility investigations

Hi, I've been trying to buy travel insurance, but all the ones I've seen ask if you've been seen as an outpatient in the last two years, or are waiting for any investigations. We have started down the investigatory road, only found minor male factor so far. Certainly nothing that would cause us to claim on insurance

But it seems that this would invalidate any policy we took out. Or you have to choose one with 'preexisting medical conditions'. I am not prepared to write infertility, or pay x6 for having had some blood tests and an ultrasound.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Many thanks

How very odd. I have travel insurance through work and didn't have to provide any info for that, but it seems very odd.

Did you check the small print though? They didn't ask these questions, but when you read the policy document its hidden in there. I hate insurance for that reason...

I'll look at some others, thanks euro

That was meant to be they didn't all ask, but the ones that didn't still had this as a precondition of cover.

Nope, I've just checked the Ts and Cs.

Why do you think infertility investigations would invalidate a policy? You should declare any investigations but it seems unlikely that you would not get cover on this basis. Are you sure the policies do not exclude travelling for the purpose of fertiltiy investigations?

Where are you looking for insurance?

I don't think they should! But we have seen a consultant and I am waiting for an hsg and ultrasound. The ones I saw just have a blanket 'if you've been seen in opd or are awaiting investigations'

I was going through go compare and money supermarket. also spoke to the aa on the phone, and he asked. Will try going direct to some bigger names.
It's not like I'm going abroad for ivf or something! Argh.

Contact the provider of the policy you're interested in and ask them outright. If you're looking online there's usually a "contact us" link. I asked one a different Q about terms and conditions a couple of weeks ago and they replied within about 12 hours.
