Ok so four tests later and four faint lines later I've been reading up about evaporation lines and how they can be read as a 'false positive'
I want to get excited but I don't feel I can yet as I'm so unsure its really happening.
Please help, My last pregnancy was straight away bold and very in your face pregnant result so this is new to me
thank you x

Delighted for you, but as for GPs' pregnancy tests, "How they can get it so wrong is beyond me", I wouldn't start blaming the GP!

It is very simple. Your urine did not show up enough HCG in that sample. Perhaps that was because your urine then was more dilute, depending on what you'd had to drink before. The tests the GPs have are no more accurate than tests from a chemist. It is not your GP's fault! Tomorrow's urine will, hopefully, have a greater concentration on a urine test so make your test brighter. Give it a few days, and it will be really bright!

My first pregnancy the line wasn't visible for several days after my period was due and he is fast asleep in his cot next door. With DD, I was all upset because I'd had a negative test on the Monday and then it was vaguely positive the next day. I'm now 7/40 and was self-controlled enough (surprisingly for me!) to wait for several days after my period was due and it came up bright and straight away.

I was going to say, before I got to the end of the story, was that just because it was negative today, it didn't mean you weren't pregnant. You might just have to wait if AF didn't appear and then do another one.

Hope it all goes well.

I love my GP I've had the same guy since I was a child and its a pleasure to see him, he's the nicest guy.
I'm not blaming anyone I just thought a doctor would have the answer, I'm aware that I didn't have a lot to test with and that its very early on.
I trust him and that is why I went to see him today, I felt pregnant and that is why I re-tested no other reason, it just didn't add up.
thank you
