I came of Implanon about 3 weeks ago. I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it would take to get pregnant ?

I got pregnant two months after having it out, but it all depends on whether you actually make the 'window of opportunity'. You need to have sex between these few days to maximise your chance of conception. If you know your cycle, there's loads of sites online where you can work out when your window is. Good Luck TTC.

There are tests you can buy that tell you when you're ovulating, think you can pick them up pretty cheap from eBay. Might be worth investing in some if you're wanting to get pregnant sooner rather than later.

my friends have told me that i am ovulating because i have been having the symptoms. i think i will leave the ovulating test for now. i have been stressing about getting pregnant and reading too much info its taking over my life but thankyou for the advice. it happens when it happens lets just hope i dont have to wait to long :) Thanks

The test will let you know exactly when you're ovulating, therefore maximising your chance of hitting the 'window of opportunity'. Hope it doesn't take too long for you :) Good Luck x

I think so yeah, I've never used them myself but I'm sure I have seen them next to the pregnancy tests. I know First Response do them but they're very expensive. You can definitely get them on eBay, fairly cheap I would have thought. If you check the conception or TTC boards on here sometimes people give away some so you might be lucky and get some free ones (obv. just pay postage).

Just did a quick search on eBay and you can get 30 tests for £4 says they're the same ones used by the NHS.

You've only had your implant out 3 weeks, you don't need to be worrying about ovulation test sticks!

Have sex every 2-3 days throughout the month and sooner or later you'll probably be pregnant. Don't try and target the 'window of opportunity' as you'll probably miss it. Ovulation can vary between women and also between cycles.

Generally speaking you are ovulating again between 2 weeks and 3 months after removal of the implant.

Hi Sidge,

We're moving this to conception because we think you'll get a better response there. Good luck!

I've just had mine out- I'm not aggressively trying to get pregnant, but I wouldn't mind. If I do I do, if I don't I'm not going to worry about it, but when I got it taken out I told my GP that, and she was very insistent that I went back on the pill. e.g.
Her: Well I can't take it out until you're covered for contraception...
Me: I don't actually MIND if I get pregnant... (I'm in my mid 20's, I'm in the ideal weight range, I rarely drink, I don't smoke, my blood pressure's fine and I take a pregnacare vitamin every day because my nutritionist friend told me they're one of the best multivitamins that women of childbearing age can take!)
Her: Well have you been on microgynon? (I've been on every pill going which was why I went for the implanon...)
Me: Yes. Didn't like it. Can I not just use condoms? (DH works away all week so sex is fairly predictable schedule-wise)
Her: You need to go on the pill before I can take this out.

I am not taking the pill. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to make my own reproductive choices is it? She has given me a prescription that has gone straight in the drawer.
I'm not a 16 year old schoolgirl who's going to end up in a council flat- I'm a grown married woman who wants to be chilled out about this, and my GP is making me very angry indeed!! Angry

In that situation, I would have expected at least some sensible advice about pregnancy, not a bloody telling off! What do you actually have to say to your doctor to get advice on getting pregnant?!

My quickest pregnancy was post implanon at 8 weeks after...
