Using frozen embryos

Towards the end of 2010 we had IVF and conceived our DS, who was born last September. We also got a few frozen embryos. We're thinking of trying for another baby using one of the frozen embryos sometime in the next few months.

Have any of you done this? Is there anything I should know before we go back to the clinic?

Hi CruCru

We had fresh ivf at Christmas. got a bfp then mc at 6 weeks. We had FET two weeks ago but got a bfn.

i alwasy felt that if they survive the thaw, they would be strong and sticky. Alas it didn't work for us this time but i've read many success FET stories online.

The only thing i would suggest is that youu think about putting two back rather than just one...

Good luck.

Thanks Pocket. Will think about having two put back in but am
Utterly Terrified of having twins. Guess I'll talk with the people at the clinic and see what they think.

Is that what FET is then? Using frozen embryos?

Ah. It probably stands for Frozen Embryo Transfer. Sorry, I didn't get the acronym Blush.

Yes sorry FET is frozen embryo transfer. Have a think and a chat. Depending on your age they may encourage you to just have one - if yore older with history of probs they are happier to put two. It's not an easy decision at all. But good luck!

There is more than one way to do an FET, you can use your natural cycle or be medicated (to varying degrees) and even the medicated is much easier on your body than a full cycle so if you do one at a time you can have back to back cycles.
