Due to the luck thread starters have, I thought I'd mark a place for the second thread as we are so chatty!

Here's to BFPs for us all :-)

Queen I'm glad to hear you say that point of DTD often and right the way through the cycle but I can't get my head around why 'they' say try every other day during the whole cycle because I didn't think you could ovulate more then once or twice. I am guessing it's a good theory for people who don't know when they ovulate like me? I feel like I missed this part out in biology :)

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 10:50

Popinda I have to admit I got desperate yesterday and paid full price in Boots :( Buy it from Amazon as its a few pounds cheaper. I brought the tube rather then the applicators so that DH could use it too. The applicators you put in 15mins before DTD. I say 'applicator' but it's just a syringe type looking thing that helps you put the lub in internally.

Yes I'm also going to buy some EPO :)

QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 10:52

newbie - kick will be able to give you a better answer than I can, but basically OV differs for everyone plus when you get that smiley on your OV stick it can still be several days before you release the egg. Having sex regularly all month means that theres always going to be swimmers there waiting no matter when the egg is released. Also if you usually OV at say day 14, things like stress can push OV back, so if you stop dtd too early you can miss it altogether. The best thing to do is keep shagging all month just in case! I think the every other day thing is so the swimmers get chance to recoup in between. Hope this helps Smile

NicolaHazel · 10/06/2012 11:01

We DTD regularly, but with the best will in the world it won't be every other day! Too tired from work :-(

Hoping twice at the weekend and once mid week will keep me topped up enough, as that's normal for us. Though we missed yesterday, so went from CD17 to CD20. Hope that hasn't screwed things up :-/

newbie , pinkie which fertility cream did you get? Conceive plus or pre-seed fertility? Just went on amazon and found thus 2 so a bit confused now. Confused

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 11:16

Queen that does help thank you. Newbie don't worry I'm not managing every other day either so I think that's quite normal. We can only do what we can do. No point us stressing about that too :)

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 11:40

Pop Conceive plus ;)

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 11:42

Hah I'm loosing the plot! That message above was meant for Nicola...not myself dah!

NicolaHazel · 10/06/2012 12:05

Ha ha Newbie, that is true.

We generally DTD quite regularly, so I suppose we shouldn't really have to up our game too much as I should almost always have a few lurking swimmers if nothing else.

But, I do want to make sure I give us the best chance to conceive too.

No stressing should be our mantra. 'Key ring. Key ring. Key ring!'

I used conceive plus bought it in boots for about £11 was cheaper than amazon and eBay at the time

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 13:19

Pinkie Did you use the applicator version? I think that was £11 and the tube was £15

Pinkie29 · 10/06/2012 13:51

Yeah I wasn't keen in the idea of the syringe so opted for the one use applicators think you get 8 in a pack

Maclairey · 10/06/2012 14:55

So i have just bought some EPO and some starflower oil. Not sure how much of each I should take? Also, if I am not sure on when I ovulate should I just take it cd1-10 or something? That is of course if AF EVER TURNS UP!!!

redstrawberry · 10/06/2012 14:59

I have bought some EPO too :)
I might get Conceive plus seeing all the posts on here. If it doesn't work out this month I want to give it the best chance next month.

Nicola and Newbie same here - working long hours, DH away from home, busy weekends = no chance of EOD sex. Just hoping the infrequent humpage leaves some surviving swimmers in place.

I am actually doing well this month with the ttc malarkey. Haven't thought about being pregnant for at least 7 hours Hmm then I found my link to MN :)

alwyn · 10/06/2012 14:59

What does starflower oil do?

Maclairey · 10/06/2012 15:09

I think starflower oil is also good for hormone balancing and also for PMS. I am pretty sure that after a 50+ day cycle the PMS is going to be horrific.

Having said that though I can't start taking it yet so who knows. I may even be spouting a load of rubbish.

Feeling very weird today, a bit spaced out and not altogether with it.

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 15:09

Red your post made me laugh... It's a real challenge not to think about pregnancy now! I distracted myself by cleaning and managed 20mins until I found the book 'pregnancy for dummies' that my sister passed onto me many moons ago.

I think I'm going to start using EPO whenever AF turns up too.

alwyn · 10/06/2012 15:11

I've just seen that starflower oil and EPO are v similar. Will consider them if this cycle is a no-go.

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 19:32

After saying I have no pms this morning Ive had a weird tightening sensation in my stomach all day Confused It feels like have been doing too many sit ups and my stomach is sore when I poke it. I hope this isn't the first signs of a very bad AF on its way :(

NicolaHazel · 10/06/2012 19:37

I've had shocking stomach / lady part pain almost all month, Newbie...not sure why, but I'm heartily sick of it now. :-/

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 19:42

Nicola is this the wakening of our ovaries! I did another OV test tonight incase the pain was linked to that...but still nothing Hmm

alwyn · 10/06/2012 19:42

Does anyone get - ahem - excess wind as a sign of OV?

Newbie2 · 10/06/2012 20:38

alwyn not sure. FX someone on here has a better answer for you!

NicolaHazel · 10/06/2012 20:40

I have no idea, Newbie, but I hope that's what it is! Will be worth the pain if so.

I suppose suppressing ovulation for 17.5 years will lead to some pain on awakening! :-(

OP posts:
QueenOfTheDrama · 10/06/2012 22:31

nicola I've had stomach pains and pain ahem, down there most of today too so defo hormone related methinks! Smile

Sorry alwyn can't help with that one I'm afraid! Grin
