I take thyroxine, but my understanding is that it can affect fertility(not sure about subclinical though), also low thyroxine in the first trimester can affect brain development. I had to increase my dose by 25mcg when pg with ds as soon as I knew, and was monitored throughout by endocrinologist. Can't recall miscarriage risk, think it might increase but not sure. Sorry not many silver linings in my post. Does your dr know/ are you ttc? If you get pg do get a blood test soon after, can't remember exactly when I had mine. If you aren't sure then go back to dr. Having said that, if it was v low then you would be on levothyroxine. My ds is fit healthy and seems clever enough, I was on thyroxine after birth of dd, so well managed, it shouldn't be an issue.

thanks for replying, glad to hear it worked out well for you.

Yes Dr does know, we had been TTC for a year and so made the appointment to see what the problem was, and it was picked up in a blood test

TSH was 6.1, which is on the high side, but everything else came back ok

she also said i was subclinical, meaning i wasn't 'presenting' as someone with Hypothyroidism whatever that means.
