Hi, I have always had a feeling I'd struggle conceiving, maybe because my AF was never regular, and whilst I'm not feeling massively negative or anything, people keep telling me I'm worrying too much/stressing etc. I keep hearing about couples who struggled and then either the minute they looked into IVF/gave.up/booked an exotic holiday etc, it happened. Is there any truth in this positive thinking business and does you body ovulate and conceive more or less depending on your state of mind?! Is anyone willing to try relaxing and positive thinking with me? Or is that just a baby myth?!

Have you seen this article on the guardian website?

I plan to try it Grin

I got pregnant with my first on the last possible cycle before my first appointment at the infertility clinic.

DD2 was no bother at all.

DFs older children were the result of IVF, The youngest, of course appeared completely naturally, the moment she turned the box bedroom into a study.

I'm with this one completely as it has happened twice to me.
We tried for 1 yr, no luck. Then dh's dad's death prompted us to give up, start using withdrawal and thought to book our flights to Oz at the end of the year for huge travelling experience. Turned out the only booking we did that Xmas was to hospital to get induced. Grin
Second time (now) after a MMC, I obsessed with temping/ov sticks/poas every month for months til I decided enough was enough and I wanted to go back to uni to get my degree. We started being careful, I got my uni place then a week before fresher's week I found out we were pg. Due in 5 weeks, just after my final exams Shock

I don't know how you go about 'making' yourself relax though, impossible IMO. Good luck, I know how frustrating it is Sad

Love these stories :) am going to book more more holidays, sign up to uni and buy a motorbike :o hehe.

Spoke to someone just now about a friend who had a trip booked to Thailand so started "trying" but was more than happy for it to take ages, so no stress or pressure at all...BFP straight away!

bugsy that guardian link was fascinating by the way!

Got a slight temp rise this morning, day 18...I wonder...no, must relax! Right shopping, comfort eating, trashy telly and hot baths here I come!

AIBU to hate it when people say this to me? If I stopped 'trying' and DTD when I actually wanted to I'd have sex once every couple of months I reckon!
