Dietary changes?

Supplements?

A stern talking to?

I don't think mine is a great place to be, if you're a sperm.

Hi, I head that it is good to eat less acidic things e.g. no citrus or tomatoes. Also you could put a cup of vinegar in your bath.

Sorry if that sounds a bit nutty, hope it helps!

RightUpMyRue · 22/03/2012 14:13

Not too nutty no Smile I've also heard good things about apple cider vinegar and foofs but it was more for if you've got thrush not for making an inviting place for sperm.

Any more ideas for a hostile fanjolina?

When I was ttc my GP said the best thing to neutralise the acid was lots of sex.
Apparently the sperm helped reduce the acidity therefore making conception more likely!
We'd used condoms for years so I was very acidic according to the GP.

Chemical contraceptives create a less acidic womb.

RightUpMyRue · 22/03/2012 19:59

We're getting quite a bit of that at the moment! The trouble is though I tend to end up all unbalanced down there, with all the sperm, and get a bit thrushy Blush so not only do I want to make it more friendly for sperm so I end up getting PG but also so I'm not so affected by the alkilinity of the sperm.

Sounds impossible.

I've got to ask, why do you think you have an acidic foof?

RightUpMyRue · 22/03/2012 20:23

All foofs are acidic. I may be paranoid but I think mine is particularly so, for reasons stated above.

Have you tried avoiding sugar in your diet? I don't know whether that has an effect on acididity but it may well help with the thrushiness. I had thrush nearly every single month for over a year. Since Jan this year, I haven't had any food with sugar in or any yeasty food and touch wood it hasn't returned.

RightUpMyRue · 23/03/2012 10:40

It's really difficult to avoid all sugar though isn't it? I don't eat much bread and don't drink beer so I don't have much yeast in my diet as it is. I rarely eat mushrooms so fungus isn't a problem either but cutting out all sugar would be near impossible Sad I love sweet things.

I use preseed lubricant which is sperm friendly, helps them live longer if you dont have much ewcm.

RightUpMyRue · 23/03/2012 11:25

I think I'll invest in some preseed or conceive plus if this cycle is another unsuccesful one. It can only help, can't it?

Apparently it helps the sperm live longer by providing a nice environment similar to ewcm, so it's good if you don't produce much of it

SunSoakedStone · 24/03/2012 16:48

Nice sofas, plush carpets, fridge full of beer? Joking. I agree, Preseed is very good stuff and non-irritating which has to help.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 25/03/2012 13:48

We used preseed last cycle. I only used about 2grams but felt that because I was on clomid my EWcm wasn't as abundant as usual. Incidentally we did get pregnant but I'm sure this was due to clomid and not the preseed.

Another one to look at is zestica conception gel it is meant to help create a better environment and balance the flora in the foof! It seems to be based on clinical research so might be worth looking at. They do a conception kit which has the gel for pre ov and also gel for during etc
