Hello all,

DP and I have 'officially' decided we would love a brother or sister for our ds 18mo.

I came on my period yesterday (19th) and normally have a period between 5th -18th every month. Would anyone who is informed be so kind to let me know when my optimum time for conception is this month?

Also, what about the following months bearing in mind I am all over the place - ds was unplanned and I think we were very lucky, however I want to do things 'properly' this time and be a bit more in control and aware of the situation.

Thanks - good luck to everyone else ttc atm.

Thought you had PCOS rather than PCSO!.

Would suggest you read up on PCOS and learn more as knowledge is power!. There are some good publications out there and Verity www.verity.pcos.org.uk is a good website for women with PCOS.

I would actually seek medical advice sooner rather than later as you already have a PCOS diagnosis. GP should refer you to a gynaecologist. I suggest this as such cases can require careful management and you may well need some medical assistance in order to conceive.

Women with PCOS can ovulate spontaneously and very occasionally but what could equally be happening here now is that you are having periods without actually ovulating.

Forget too all about optimum conception times; conception does not work like that at all (it is certainly not an exact science. Ovulation can occur earlier later or not at all in any given cycle) and is not an approach to be recommended at all where PCOS is concerned. It is certainly not the case for instance that a woman ovulates 14 days prior to her period.

Would try and keep within the usual weight limit for your height as any excess pounds can exacerbate PCOS symptoms. Some PCOSers find following a low GI/GL eating plan helpful.
