Hello ladies,

I am a long time lurker on this board and rarely post but I really hope someone can help shed some light on my current situation. I've not had regular periods since a teen and last AF was in May 2011. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have an appointment at the fertility clinic in a couple of months. About 7-10 (ish) days ago I had very sore nipples. I've never experienced this in the past so did OV and PG test one day - both negative but OV was faintly positive which I assume was because I have PCOS. I've had some spotting since Friday - (TMI alert) mainly brown but some pink/red. It's very light and I've had no cramps at all which I usually do before and during AF. No other symptoms.

I suspect not but could this be an implantation bleed? I don't know the science behind it but would AF not be a lot heavier given that I've not had one for 10 months? I only have these NHS cheapie tests so I'm assuming that it's too early to test. Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer some advice?

Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading.

I'm not sure tbh but I don't think you could get pg without having periods as your uterus wouldn't have the endometrial layer needed for the egg to implant in.

I'm not a doctor or anything though so I guess it could be possible? If it was implantation bleeding then yes it would be too early to test, I would leave another week or so.

Thanks for your reply. That is what I thought but I remember watching OBEM few weeks ago and the midwife giving birth had not had a period for a long time. It's not the first time I've heard of that happening. Would the endometrial layer not be super thick? Or am I being super thick asking this? Blush

My friend has pcos and got pregnant without having a period for two years! You could be right about the implantation. I'm no expert on pcos and hopefully someone else will come along with more advice. I'd say if you're not sure when you ovulated, I'd give it a few days and retest.

Thanks havealittlefaith, I couldn't resist and took a test which came back BFN. Not surprised really. It's reassuring to hear that some people are just very lucky when it comes to ttc!

My friend obviously ovulated at some point and managed to crack it! I think it's worth retesting in a few days if your symptoms continue.
