Is anyone else following the clearblue natural gender selection method?!

Ok, have 2 DDs and wouldn't mind another, but am hoping to slant it in favour of a DS this time!
Bought a clearblue fertility monitor (kids too active at night to try charting) and using it for first time this month. So far highs since day 9, now on day 15 so waiting for first peak. Know ovulation happens about 24-36 hrs after LH surge, but just wondered if anyone else doing this? Did you wait after first peak and just BD at second peak ie following day or is that too late??!
Hubby thinks its funny and we both think another girl will arrive anyway, but it is fun giving it a go!

Just to warn you, Helen, the last gender selection thread here did not end well sadly.

But apparently more boys are conceived closer to ovulation because male sperm are lazier. Kind of sets the habit of a lifetime. But there do seem to be women who will only ever have children of one sex - my brother's ex had three baby girls, and my cousin has three boys.

Babies are like a box of chocolates etc :)

Good luck.

I believe that they think some men only produce x chromosomes so they will only have girls....but some people have had success with the Shettles method. I think you'll be ok with this thread since you are light hearted about it and sound happy if you did conceive another girl!
Fwiw I think people generally think girls are conceived a few days before ovulation so I'd start thinking about dtd now!

Regardless of which gender you are trying for, do not leave it until the second peak day. That might end up being too late to conceive at all, especially if you ovulate on the first peak day, or in the morning of the second day. If you are trying to skew it in favour of a boy, having sex at the end of the high days (once you get used to how many you usually get) and the first peak day (and perhaps the second if you fancy one last go) probably gives you the best chance of following this theory but not actually missing out on the chance of getting pregnant full stop. I'm not sure that I actually believe in the science behind these sex selection methods though, but if you are going to try it, it's important to do it in a way that doesn't significantly reduce your chance of getting pregnant at all.

There is an alternative theory to Shettles which is just about opposite. It is called o +12, and it is for conceiving a girl. Not relevant to you, I know, but worth reading about it because it makes you realise that the theories dispute each other, so it may affect when you want to try (or may make you decide the whole thing is a load of bollocks!).

There is a in- gender selection forum where I read about it - google to find it.

Good luck! My friend just had a son after 3 girls so it is possible.

Hi Helen. I've heard using pre-seed lubricant makes your cm more boy-sperm friendly, as does a high potassium diet so stock up on the bananas :)
