I had an early miscarriage (5 wks + 5 days) which started 25 days ago. It was my first pregnancy and a happy surprise - the pg, obviously, not the MC. (I MC'd with no medical intervention, bled for 7 days, heavy, painful and small clots, but that was it).

So we really want to try again. I am counting today as CD25...have been peeing on the Ov sticks since day 10, but still not even an inkling of a positive result.

I am wondering what on earth the MC has done to my previously very regular 28 day cycle? Really want everything to be back to normal asap so we can start trying again.

Has anyone else experienced very late ovulation, after an early miscarriage? Even after day 25?

Is it common to not ovulate at all, in the first month after an early MC?

I know this probably makes me sound a bit mad, but I feel really desperate to ovulate again, so that I know everything's working down there. In bad weird moments, I feel worried that i might never ovulate again - i know there's no rational or medical basis for feeling like this, but I do anyway :(

Grateful for other people's stories...

Hey project, glad to hear eveything's going well :)

I finally got a positive on the Ov test sticks today - cd17! So pretty late, but at least it's here! Have been SWI since cd11 (poor DH!) and at it again tonight so hoping this month it will be be too! fingers crossed.

(although am being slightly weird now about my luteal phase - yep, that's today's neurosis- am worried that because I have ovulated so late, there's no way it will stick even if it is fertilised this month Sad)

Don't stress DangerMousey it should stay roughly the same length as normal so you'll probably just have a slightly longer cycle this time. Enjoy!!

Hey chunky and project - not sure if you're still keeping an eye on this thread, but just wanted to tell someone that I think I got a BFP this morning!!!!

Second cycle since my MC. My period was due yesterday and didn't show up, so POAS this morning with FMU and got a distinct line!! Am sort of in shock and disbelief. The next couple of weeks are going to be v worrying but am really hoping this time it's a keeper.

Just wanted to say thanks cos you both were really kind and reassuring to me over the last couple of months. I hope things are going well with you both - maybe see you on some of the PG Boards in a couple of weeks if everything goes well...??

That's fantastic news DangerMousey!!!! It is a bit stressful the first few weeks - the knicker checking becomes a bit frenzied, but I'm 5+6wks today & feeling positive...

Hope you have a pleasant & uneventful 8ish months and get a lovely Christmas present.
All the best x

Woo go DangerMousey that is fab news! Funny, I haven't checked this thread for a while and thought I'd just pop in today on the off chance of any news and there was your lovely update. Chuffed to bits for you.

I have a dating scan tomorrow but I think I'm 7 weeks so hopefully oh hopefully they will find something in there. Too many bad hospital memories from the EPAU in January are making me worry.

Congrats again and a big hello to Chunky too. Xx

DangerMousey · 26/03/2012 12:05

Thanks project and chunky - yes, you're right, I keep feeling convinced that I've started bleeding and rushing to the loo, to find nothing there :-S

I guess this is what my life's going to be like for the next few months weeks, at least until I have a scan. I am gonna go to the GP next week, and ask if I can possibly be referred to the EPU for an early scan for reassurance purposes, but not sure if they do that round here, unless you've had multiple MCs. Oh well, worth an ask, I reckon.

All the best for your dating scan tomorrow project, I really hope that everything goes well and swimmingly smoothly for you this time round, will be crossing all my fingers and toes for you tomorrow. I know what you mean about slightly dreading a return to the EPU - that place will always have v bad associations in my mind too. But lots of people have v good experiences in these places: last year my best mate was referred for an early scan at 6.5 weeks after having bleeding and some pains. They found a perfect little embryo with a beating heart, and 4 weeks ago she gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl :)

Danger I was booked in for the dating scan as I hadn't had a LMP since mc so technically no one knows how far gone I am... which I totally went along with despite knowing the exact 3 dates we DTD in order to get that much wanted early reassurance. Can you not claim to be in a muddle with dates after mc? Bit naughty I suppose as you do actually have a LMP. Just thinking aloud really, nobody shoot me!

Aaaanyway I have just returned from hospital with good news, my 7 week jellybean is alive and kicking beating, yay! The sonographer was rather abrupt but when she heard I was in the very same room I'd miscarried in just 9 weeks ago she kindly have me a picture of our little 1cm blob to take home for free Grin That has helped to make me feel better about the EPAU, not that I had any complaints about the wonderful staff before, it just held some sad memories. Next mental hurdle = getting past the dreaded 8 week mark.

Best wishes to you both xx

kicking not kicking, that'll teach me to be all fancy with clever font tricks.

DangerMousey · 26/03/2012 21:03

ah yaaaay! that's great news project, really pleased that the scan went well. I hope everything goes swimmingly well over the next few weeks - keep us updated!

Hmmm, sneaky! I like the idea of mis-representing the dates situation! I will see how the conversation goes with the doc and see how I feel...i hope they might refer me anyway, to shut me up!

I am trying to pretend that I'm not PG at the moment, to avoid getting my hopes up - failing miserably, obviously!

Hi Danger how are you getting on? Hope your BFP news has settled in and you are enjoying the 'delights' of early preg. Any news on a scan?

Today is a big day for me: 8+0, the very date I mc last time. But the day is nearly over with no bad news... premature hurrah! Getting bloated and big now though, not sure how I'm going to hold off telling work for much longer.

Chunky hope all is well with you too.

DangerMousey · 03/04/2012 18:04

Hey project, glad to hear everything is going well for you. How spooky- today is my D-Day too - this is the exact day I MC'd last time (5+5). I have been crossing my legs fingers all day and no sign of any problems yet...I know it's just an arbitrary milestone but it means so much to me to get past this date.

I went to see my GP yesterday an she was lovely - referred me to the EPU for an early reassurance scan in a couple of weeks time (18 April) by which point I will be almost 8 weeks so hoping there'll be something to see).

Haha yes am "enjoying" the symptoms of early preg. No sickness or nausea yet but am absolutely knackered and have the shits diarrhoea, which my doc say some women get at this stage. Which is nice! How are you feeling?

Had 12 week scan on Monday and all is well! Big sigh of relief. When's yours, Danger. All going OK? x
