Driving myself crazy charting my temperature

I've been charting my temperatures for the last two months and I haven't been seeing any significant changes between the first and second half of my cycles. I tend to fluctuate about 0.2 degrees from one day to the next. I had a bit of a dip and then a significant peak on CD17 this month but this morning my temp went right back down again.

I had my hormone levels checked late in my last cycle and low levels of progesterone were found which I believe does indicate some kind of ovulation occurred?

Also my Androstendione levels were elevated which is some cause for concern to the gyno. I have a small dermoid cyst on my right ovary which may be causing the raised Androstendione levels so I will likely be having that removed at some point soon. I'm starting to accept that this is going to become a long a difficult process.

I would be refraining from temp charting at all in your particular circumstances due to the dermoid cyst possibly affecting your androstendione levels. Also you can get a temp rise in the second half of the cycle when an egg has not been shed.

How low was your progesterone level?. Usually a level of 30 or over would indicate that ovulation has occured.

When do you next see the gynae?. The three of you need a detailed discussion about all this.

I wish you well; do keep us posted.

Unfortunately the test was taken on day CD28 last month (the second last day of my cycle) so the results are probably not as accurate as they could be. The progesterone was at 6,68. The Androsendione levels were quite high at >10,00. I had another test done on CD9 which still showed raised Androstendione levels but significantly less at 5,00.

I go in for another test on CD 22 which should, hopefully, give a more accurate picture.

I think you're right, I should just stop with the charting as things seem to be all over the place any way and I'll just cause myself additional stress. My morning temperature has started to indicate what kind of day I'm going to have and that's not very helpful or productive.
