having blood tests but done temp and sticks, and they say am not, so am going on 40, do they put me on clomid??

how many cycles have you charted for .. as it can be quite normal for people to have anovulatory cycles?

clomid or similar drug possibly

maybe scans

been trying for a year, doc thinks am not ovulating too so doind blood test for 2 months then refering me, would he have been better fefering me now, can the gp give me clomid??

The general consensus is that if you are over 35 and have been ttc for six months without success then further investigations should be done.

The GP can give you clomid BUT you would be far better off having a referral request made now. The blood tests can be done under the subfertility unit and they can assess such results properly. Its not something the GP should himself try to treat.

More importantly you should have a diagnosis of the problem; clomid may not be the answer here.

Also clomid should not be given without any form of monitoring (blood tests and ultrasounds) which is something the GP cannot do.

You must also bear in mind that it can take some months for an appointment to come through.

Both you and your man should be tested as well to rule out any possible male factor problems.
