Hi all.

I'm going to do a bit of online window shopping & thought whilst I was there, I could get some recommendations for OPKs and PG tests from those in the know - the other TTC-ers!!!

Not sure whether I will need either just yet (only on cycle #2 for baby #2 - DD was a v easy conception!!) but perhaps if I have the OPKs to use 'in a month or two', the law of sod will come in to play...

Which sticks are good/sensitive/cheap as chips/worth buying?

Thanks for any recommendations in advance. :)

Well I've used the Clear Blue Ovulation Predictor kit and that has worked well for me - at least I'm now certain I'm ovulating seeing as my temperatures are quite often all over the shop which confuses the holy f**k out of Fertility Friend LOL!

They're quite expensive, but I've personally never had a confirmation from the internet cheapies, but I know other people swear by them.

Thank you desperate. I was hoping for some general recommendations - you can't go wrong really, if other think they're good!! :)

Have seen a few comments about eBay cheapies but not sure I'd trust anything from there! Wink

I use the medical grade cheapo ones from SME Fertility...the ones where you stick them in a cup of pee (mmmmm!). Ridiculously cheap:

Sensitive Ovulation Tests Strips 20 - £2.90
Ultra Early Pregnancy Tests 10 - £1.50

I was PO so many sticks, I couldn't keep paying the prices of one or two tests from the chemists. I followed some links from other posters on here to ebay and Amazon, did some research and this is the first month with the OV tests. I've done a couple so far, to see what a non-OV time looks like (super faint line) so feel pretty confident about using them :)

I second getting the medical grade cheapo ones. It is outrageous how much Clearblue etc charge for them when the cheap ones are just as accurate. Plenty of Ebay sellers do them for around for 20 (postage minimal as they fit in a normal size envelope) Having spent years ttc and having peed on dozens of sticks, I refuse to be conned out of ££s by big companies :) The ones from Ebay are honestly fine (when they did one in hospital it was identical to the cheapo ones I buy)

I got some cheap ebay ones, i didnt detect a peak with them the first month but got 2 strong positives with them this month.

I think i only used one a day the first month and missed my peak, this month i had a better idea what days to use them as i charted my temp last month so knew i ov'd CD17 last month. Used them CD 14 onwards and got 2 strong readings CD16 (yesterday) a less strong one this morning and negative this evening.

I also bought a persona monitor for a fiver off ebay, didn't give me a peak last month but could easily read the LH line on the stick which appeared shortly before ov, this month got an egg symbol (peak reading) yesterday and today TBH i have found this better than the internet strips but the monitor takes a couple of months to get used to your cycle so really need to start early with it.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Hoping this month will be lucky, but will prob try vits next month (for DH & me), after reading that thread on them, then maybe get ov sticks for month after... Haven't ever had any probs conceiving before BUT things can change and it might be a good idea to check I'm ov'ing etc if things haven't gone quite as hoped.
