How long after ovulation could you hypothetically conceive?

I've looked around previous threads and can't find anything.

I think I ov'd around the 11th, we had sex on the 18th. Since then I've had pulling/cramping feelings that used to indicate my period was about a week away, but I haven't had these sensations since my periods returned after DC1 (about 7 months ago), and part of my brain keeps thing 'implantation pains'.

So, could I have conceived a whole week after ovulating? I've never really paid much attention to my body before, so I'm a bit of a novice at this sort of stuf.

We are ttc, but not reeeeally trying, and if it happens this month the baby would be due on my birthday Smile

The short answer is no - the egg is only able to be fertilised for a few hours after ovulation.
However - how sure are you that you ovulated when you think you did? And if you have concieved then 3 days after fertilisation is too early for implantation (that begins about 6-7 days after ovulation).

Thanks scientist, that's what I understood from what I've googled, and what I was sort of hoping. For many proper reasons for not wanting to conceive this month, I wasn't very keen to share my birthday Wink.

I'm pretty sure I ovulated around then - I'm not charting as such, just trying to tune into some of the subtle body signs, and I think it was somewhere between the 11-14th ish.

Think I'll be hanging around this board a bit more over the next few months while we see what happens.
