Sorry, I had to namechange for this but I am a semi-regular.

Backtory - haven't used contraception since June2000, was diagnosed with unexplained infertility, had 2 m/c after 3 years then finally fell pg with dc1 after 4.5 years.
Had 2 more m/c then a second d/c. Was told i have blood clotting and progesterone issues so had a very medicalised pg but all good in the end.

Have had 2 def m/c since and several chemical pgs but nothing at all in the last 3 years.

2 of the m/c were missed m/c so not discovered until the 12 week mark. The rest were lost between 7 and 10 weeks.

I am now almost 40, still not using contraception and still vaguely hoping for another child but making the most of the 2 miracles we have.

Due on last weekend. Had a little bit of spotting the week before but that was 48 hours post sex which sometimes happens anyway.

Spotting started again last Fri, ready for NYE full flood nightmare that I was expecting. Only it didn't happen. I just had 4 days of the tiniest bit of spotting. And that's it. Nada. Nothing else.

I bought a digital test yesterday and took it in the afternoon. It said 'not pg' so I expected to start bleeding last night or today. Nothing.

Should I wait a while and test again or does it sound more like early menopause? My hormones are crap, anyway! If I am (by some incredible miracle) pg again then I am scared about the ridiculous amount of alcohol I have consumed in the last month, the lack of pg vits and the fact that I should be taking asprin and progesterone.

Ugh. What do you think? Any ideas??

The digital tests are very accurate, I got a 'pregnant' when only 1 day late so I'd say you're probably not and it could just be your hormones messing up (but not necessarily menopause).

Wait another few days and then test again, if still negative maybe speak to your GP?

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea.
It has been fun fantasising for a few hours. We always wanted a big family but obviously didn't know the decade of fertility hell that was coming our way.
Going to snuggle with my two live wires now and be grateful for what I have.
Thanks

The digital tests for many are found to not be that sensitive. I would wait and test with your first wee in the morning and use a first response. You easily could have ovulated late and be testing too early or many other things. Good luck :)

I would say the clear blue digital are more sensitive than first response tho, I did I first response with first morning wee and at first thought it was negative, then after a minute there was the faintest line you have ever seen, dp wasn't convinced that there was any line at all.
That afternoon did the digital test so not even first morning wee and got pregnant 1-2 so for me the digital test was far better.

Thanks again. Still no sign of any period but a neg yesterday evening. Will leave it another couple of days and try in the morning instead.
