Fertility Care

Has anyone ever heard of / been to an organisation called fertility care? Me and Hubby are thinking of going there (our dog walker recommended them as an alternative to IVF).
Hoping to go for an introductory session soon to find out more about it, but just wondering if anyone here has had any experience of them - and did it work!!
Been trying to conceive for 18 months now - no joy. Had tests done after 6 months - due to my age (36!) and both mine and his tests came back as normal. Got to the point now when we think we need to try and do something to help things along (to think I thought Id end up with 4 children!), but a little wary of IVF so want to try something else first.

Hi katatonic i haven't hard of Fertility Care myself but i'm on another thread all about assisted conception so one of the other girls might be able to shed some light - come find us (www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/1288928-Assisted-Conception-and-all-the-bits-in-between-volume-8?pg=21)

Lots of the girls on this thread are at ARGC, i'm at Harley Street Fertility in Devonshire Street (very good so far) - i went there as a friend of a friend had literally just one egg, and they managed to get her pregnant. i'm mid process but darned well detemined to be preggers by Christmas.

hope you get the information and news you're wanting x

I had treatment at Life fertilitycare. They are affiliated with Life charity- a pro life/ Catholic organisation. I'm not Catholic and ended up feeling a bit uncomfortable with this although the pro life/ religious thing isn't really mentioned.
It takes a long time. 3 months charting your cervical mucus then you start the drugs. They will tell you that you have low progesterone, they tell everyone this. I had 3 months of 25mg clomid, hcg trigger and post ovulation cyclogest. Then I got pg. The baby was very poorly with trisomy 21 and heart defects so we tfmr. I then felt unable to tell my Dr exactly what had happened as I thought she would disapprove/ judge.
We had successful array cgh ICSI in October so fingers crossed it works out this time.
Fertilitycare is no use if you have tubal or male factor infertility. For ovulation problems etc it might be worth a try. It is cheaper than IVF but not that cheap.
At 36 (I am 34 so not much difference!) I would go straight to ivf tbh. If fertilitycare doesn't work for you you'll be 38 and ivf success will be much lower.
