This is the official diagnosis we got today. I was expecting it having looked at the screens during tests, etc. My blood tests fine, tubes clear, no problems visible on TV ultrasound, hubby's SA's both ok. But it is a strange "diagnosis". On the one hand, we should be happy that there is nothing obviously broken! On the other hand it just makes it all the more frustrating that it hasn't happened.

I'm not sure what I am expecting from this thread (although happy outcomes from other "unexplained" ladies would be nice Grin) but I just wanted to post as I'm trying to take it in. Next stop IVF, apparently.

I had a similar diagnosis three years ago after two years TTC and am now pregnant with DC2. Both were conceived through IUI. I had regular cycles, good blood test results, no male factor probs, nothing showed up on any of the tests - very frustrating. Both IUI attempts were "natural cycles" ie no drugs/clomid etc so very "low-tech" and I really had no faith that it would work but for some reason it did the trick. The doctors seemed equally baffled. Nobody ever said this but my own very non-scientific self-diagnosis is that our problem was with the sperm reaching the egg. The IUI was a bit like putting them in a taxi and taking them straight to their destination IYSWIM!! Just telling you this to say that sometimes it's something very simple which doesn't show up on the tests but not to give up hope.

Hi, I too had the unexplained 'diagnosis' from the NHS, but the private clinic was surprised as on closer look DH sperm is borderline motile and by the private clinics test also very viscous (which the NHS did not test). I'm just going through my first cycle of medicated IUI, which they recommended ahead of IVF, despite my age (39), hoping that by putting them closer to the egg, they may find their way.

This journey is really tough and I can totally sympathise with you in how frustrating it is. Sorry I can't share a happy ending with you today, but hope to get there soon!
