Am I becoming resistant to Clomid?

Ok, here's the background. I have polycystic ovaries. Was given 50mg Clomid and conceived DS1 on 3rd cycle. DS2 was my miracle baby. After ttc for some time again was prescribed Clomid again. 50mg worked first time but sadly MCd at 9 weeks. The next cycle, 50mg no longer worked so my fertility nurse told me over the phone to up it to 100mg next cycle. Then they closed the fertility unit in our hospital (but she prescribed me 6 months worth of Clomid before she left for her new job). The first cycle on 100mg appeared to work (at least AF arrived at the expected time) but the next time I clearly didn't OV as AF didn't show up for over 3 months. I still have 4 cycles worth of 100mg left but if it's not working, I am wondering whether I am becoming resistant. Should I up the dose to 150mg, giving me 2 more chances or stick to the 100mg dose (4 more cycles but risking it not being enough)?

Anyone else have experience of needing increasingly large doses of Clomid in order to ovulate?

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of. I've had 7 cycles I think (it's a bit hazy now) and had heard you could have up to 12 in a lifetime. It has clearly worked before, I just don't know whether I should up the dose again. It's all a moot point at the moment as I am still waiting for AF to show up (8 weeks and counting...) Stupid body.[hangry]

I would be wary of upping your dose without guidance; can you at least discuss it with your GP?
